I hate to see this thing go, but my new truck is on the way and I no longer need this one. This truck is immaculate. At 175k I had the Transmission, Coolant, Brake Fluid, Power Steering Fluid, Differential Fluid and Transfer Case Fluid flushed. At 180k I had the lift wheels and tires done. It has new bilstein 5100 shocks with OME springs and KYB mounts (to give it a good lift). It has an after market grille and K&N Air Intake system. Clean 2-owner 2006 Chevy Silverado 4-door.
Runs and drives like an absolute champ and was bought from the son of the original owner out of Alabama so it’s rust free and has made a cross country trek in the last year with no issues.
I bought this truck less than a year ago and it’s been great but the wife is pregnant so it’s out with the truck and in with the minivan.
The Pros are all the above listed and the fact that this model of LS engine have been known to go to 300k easy.
Up front cons on the truck:
1. There is some new paint chips on the hood from the lovely snow this season (last picture of the post)
2. The truck did not come with a spare tire and I haven’t gotten one since I bought it in June.
3. The brakes will need to be changed in the next 10,000 miles, I bought new drums and pads to do it and then the snow started, so they’ll come included with the truck.

This 1994 GMC TopKick is powered by a Cat 3116 through an Eaton 8LL unsynchronized manual transmission. It is fitted with a PTO driven hydraulic setup, feeding 2 lift cylinders to provide a hydraulic dumping 19.5’ flat bed. The truck shows it’s age as one would expect, but it is mechanically sound. This is one of the best running 3116 trucks I’ve come across. I’ve cold started it in single digit temperatures without a problem. I’ve put about $1,000 in parts into this truck since purchasing 2 months ago. The front end of the truck was removed, air leaks fixed, an overhead was performed on the engine, oil leaks sealed up, batteries replaced, and the grid heater system repaired with new controller. The shifter air lines have been replaced with new as well. You’d be hard pressed to find a better running medium duty truck for this price. Engine oil and filter will be changed before selling, and all parts used for the engine were genuine Cat, including the batteries. Thanks for looking!

Mechanically it runs good, cosmetics need some love, interior has no carpet, floor boards are solid with no rust. Seat needs love or a cover. Dash is currently out because it’s a wreck and I was going to upholster it or get a new one. It rides like an old Cadillac however I have all 4 new shocks, I have a box of misc parts. It’s missing the side view mirrors
All trim is there and in good shape, bumpers look nearly new.
