This Soul has been in our family since it was new. It started as a dealership show car, and my father-in-law bought it from the dealership. We've kept up on regular oil changes and maintenance, and it's been a dependable commuter. It has a brand new battery and a clean title (title in hand).

The clutch is worn out and needs to be replaced ASAP, as do the tires, which are pretty bald. You can get the cheaper tires at Walmart for about $100 a piece and I just got a quote for the clutch replacement at $1,700.

There's also a slightly annoying electrical issue common to this make and model where the car shutters a little sometimes when going into first gear, usually only when the engines cold. A mechanic looked into it for me and, after doing some research, pronounced it as not a safety issue, just an electrical fluke that sometimes happens with a specific car. So we've just lived with it. We've been driving it like that for about 2 years now and it's never been a real issue.
