2006 Ford Taurus SEL

Mileage: 196,000

St. George, UT | Posted October 16, 2019

$400

Used Car For Sale By Owner
2006 Ford Taurus SEL (196,005 miles: Mostly Highway Miles)
***CAR HISTORY***
I would keep this car if I could afford the repairs. It has been a good car for me for the last 4 years. I used it in town (St. George) to drive to work. My parents owned it before me, and since they lived about an hour from any cities it was driven mostly on highways and freeways for about 6 years or so. This summer (2019) this car started leaking transmission fluid and has been diagnosed by my mechanic as needing a new transmission.
***IMMEDIATE NEEDS***
This car needs a new transmission. I was quoted about $2,000 by my mechanic. If you are good at repairing things or want a hobby fixer upper car, this car would be good for that.
***PROS***
1. Good Working Air Conditioning & Heater
2. Working Speakers, CD Player, & Radio
3. Back Seat Arm Rest & Cup Holders
4. Combination Lock Doors (lock your keys in the car? no problem :D)
5. Four New Tires as of November 2018 (not driven on much after because of the transmission leak problem)
6. New Transmission Pan, Gasket, & Filter (replaced to help leak)
7. Battery Replaced in 2018
9. Sunroof
10. Front Seat Armrest Converts Into Another Front Seat
***CONS***
1. Upholstery & carpet is worn and dirty.
2. The defrost works but not well. I think if the cabin air filter was replaced it would improve ($20 easy to do it yourself if you watch a youtube video)
3. Middle console armrest Upholstery is damaged and it isn't attached to anything, it would need repairing to stay on.
4. As stated before, this car needs a new transmission $2000
5. The ball joints need replacing (quoted about $300) this car goes out of alignment so the tires tend to wear sooner than expected.
6. The windshield wiper fluid line disconnects easily

    Vin Info Has Changed

    What’s this mean?

KSL Cars uses VIN info to automatically pull details about vehicles listed on the site. The seller edited some info when they created this listing – the changes they made are marked with this symbol.

This doesn’t always mean something is wrong – we just think you should know that changes were made. But it’s probably a good idea to ask the seller about them. As always, if you don’t feel comfortable about it, do not proceed with the purchase.
