Used Car For Sale By Owner
2007 Toyota Prius hybrid vehicle extras for sale. Reasonable offers will be considered.
NO TEXTS, phone number is a landline and only receives calls. I live in cedar but the car is now in st George and my dad will be handling the sale! Call number listed. If no answer, leave message. Call WILL be returned. Thanks.
PLEASE READ THE LISTING. I’ve spent a lot of time compiling and typing this up in detail. Thank you!
2008 Prius, 201k miles. Clean title. Clean Carfax. I’ve been juggling three cars for a while in my new townhome with only two parking spaces trying to determine which car to sell! I hate to see it go because it’s been a great reliable family car but I don’t need it as much after a job change and no longer commuting like I was.
This was a fantastic commuter for me. I bought it in 2014 from Stephen Wade in st George where it had been traded in by the original owner. The owner was an older man who had it serviced it’s whole life at the dealer. I bought it with 145k miles and have driven it all over! I averaged about 38mpg on the highway and about 43mpg in town, so the battery is still running strong.
This has a few big additions to note. I installed a Prolong grid charger by Hybrid Automotive that I’ve ran every month or so to keep the batteries conditioned. This kit cost $420 alone and should keep the battery life going for a long time. It helps balance out the charge of each individual cell in the hybrid battery and thus prolong its operating life. I also have a hardwired dash cam installed along with a hardwired cable for an additional accessory like a radar detector or GPS. Additionally, there is a Bluetooth aux adapter that allows your phone to connect automatically to the stereo when you turn the car on, providing a factory-like Bluetooth setup. I also have a custom fit sun shade, as well as Thule tire chains that are included!
I had over a thousand dollars of work done recently - replaced the exhaust manifold, new O2 sensors (both), new Canadian-made catalytic converter, new exhaust manifold and donut gaskets, new inverter water pump, new coolant flow control valve, new engine air filter, new spark plugs, and a new PCV valve. All the check engine codes are clear and it’s running great. I always changed the oil every 3k miles with premium 5w-30 full synthetic and extended life filters. I also have recently installed PIAA silicone wiper blades, which costed $40 a piece. These wiper blades with proper care won’t need to be replaced for likely the life of the car. They’re known to last 10 years! There’s a reason nobody sells them (auto parts retailers make tons of money selling people new wipers every season.) I also have a Trico direct fit replacement blade for the rear wiper (the current one is still good.)
There is some light water stain on the rear seat that could probably be pulled out with a proper upholstery vacuum. The rear panel along the rear window has some light peeling in the clear coat. There are a few small nicks and scratches typical for its age. Otherwise the vehicle is in very good shape! The only mechanical issue present is it burns a little bit of oil, which is a common issue for the second and third gen Prius. I checked the oil every 1-2k miles and added a quart as necessary. With the recent repairs, I’m willing to bet consumption will drop now that everything’s flowing better and tuned up to spec again. The shop said my old catalytic converter was super plugged and it was causing it to heat up a ton and burn the oil. Fortunately it seems to have helped a lot! One other side note: insurance is cheap on this thing! Really cheap!
The tires are BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport and have been excellent. I had them installed 3 years and 35k miles ago, so with regular rotation they should have (conservatively) around another 2 years and ~25k miles left in them.
I also have a Saris roof rack system with accessories (fairing, mounts, etc) that is very rare (they no longer make them and they fetch a good price online, around 3-400$) that I will include FOR FREE with a full price offer! I will sell it separately for $250, a great deal, if you are interested.
All in all this is a well maintained Prius, and with 200k miles will make an excellent commuter, college/high school car, or for a young family looking for something on a tighter budget. We loved the body style of this car and how much interior room there is. It looks smaller than it is, there is a ton of legroom for passengers and the trunk swallows up everything, especially with the rear seats folded down. I’ve carried insane amounts of cargo in this little beauty. We’re sad to see it go but hope it will go to someone who it can serve as well as it did us! Thanks for reading and if you still have any questions I’m happy to answer them as best as I can!

    Vin Info Has Changed

    What’s this mean?

KSL Cars uses VIN info to automatically pull details about vehicles listed on the site. The seller edited some info when they created this listing – the changes they made are marked with this symbol.

This doesn’t always mean something is wrong – we just think you should know that changes were made. But it’s probably a good idea to ask the seller about them. As always, if you don’t feel comfortable about it, do not proceed with the purchase.
