2002 Toyota Celica GT

Mileage: 130,000

Orem, UT | Posted August 30, 2020

$2,650

$2650 OBO
When it comes to selling a car my philosophy is honesty. Here I have owned and driven every day my 2002 Toyota Celica gt 5 speed manual to and from my internship and other events through my college experience for the past 2 and ½ years and continue to drive it every day till it is sold so it does not sit and rot. I bought this car from a previous college student who went to uvu, he did the brake job and consistent oil change at a local shop which can be proven through documentation.
Upon owning It I have done tons of work in the last 2 years.
Maintenance
New cabin and engine air filter.
Drained and replaced the transmission fluid. (yes you can do this on a high millage manual vehicle with no recoil, unlike automatics.)
Replaced Timing Chain Tensioner O ring it was leaking a tiny bit of oil.
Consistent oil changes using Castrol synthetic high-quality blend oil
4 new tires with lifetime rotation from discount tire
Replaced both rear hubs because the wheel bearings were bad.
Replaced stripped lug nuts from the wheels
Replaced the PCV valve.
Replaced valve cover gasket.
Replaced all 4 spark plugs with OEM ngk iridium extended life.
Replaced Engine and cabin air filters
Had the fuel system cleaned and fuel injectors.
Replaced the rear hatch struts so the trunk stays open.
Cleaned the mass airflow sensor.
Disassembled and cleaned the throttle body.
Got a new radiator because the first one was leaking badly due to a large crack in the bottom.
Full coolant flush and replacement because the coolant was dirty and getting old.
Bled the brake system because the brake pedal became spongy.
Replaced Front Driver side lower control arm and bushings because I slid into a curb going 10 mph which bent the arm as well as the RIM.
Replace the front right rim due to being bent.
Got an alignment.
Replaced both rear brake drums as well as rear brake shoes.
Replaced the driver's side door because when I bought it, it had a large ding in it.
Restored the headlights for better visibility
Bought new OEM fog lights because the other one did not work.
Brand new Clutch kit and brand new flywheel, including rear main seal, throwout bearing and everything else that comes in a clutch kit this job was done at Orem Transmissions Plus LLC a year and 1/2 ago
This was done because this is the car I learned to drive a stick shift so the first clutch started to slip. But I now drive this car very nice. I leave it in neutral at stop lights instead of riding the clutch or putting unnecessary wear on the pilot bearing. I got a new flywheel because it was only $20 more to get a new one vs resurfacing the old one.
MODS
Windows are slightly tinted (legal in Utah, bought it this way)
Replaced the radio antenna for a shorter one for aesthetics.
This car has a Short throw shifter so throws are shorter. (personally think it makes it easier to drive)
DNA catback exhaust system, I have the Stock OEM muffler if you want it.
All speakers have been redone with a kicker in the rear and Rockford Fosgate in the front.
Head unit stereo was replaced, but I have the original one if interested.
Installed a backup camera
Has front rear lower lip (this is missing on almost every Celica)
Issues with the car.
The car has an ugly dent on the driver side but it is still a clean title it came this way im not sure of how it happened.
This car has a check engine light that comes on and off ill have to get the exact code its a p0420 which stands for Bad catalytic converter. This is a common issue for Toyota celicas ranging from year 2000-2002 due to the engine burning a bit of oil which tends to get into the catalytic converter, the only thing this affects is it puts out a bit more pollution if any.
The engine burns a bit of oil but when I do an oil change I add some of the lucas oil stabilizer which makes it burn very little oil
The power mirror switch stopped working so you have to adjust the mirrors with your hand
The stereo sometimes stays on so you have to disconnect the battery for a few seconds then reconnect it.
The rear right brake makes a noise but works great.
The ac does not work when I bought the car the ac compressor did not work and there were leaks in the system So I removed the compressor altogether because they are $200 to replace and I am a broke student and I usually drive in the morning or night when the air is cool.
The car passes emissions just fine though I had a 1999 toyota camry with the same engine light before this but traded it for this celica. I want to sell because I bought a Lexus Is300 now that Im in my last full semester at uvu for computer engineering and will be making more money.
Call or text if interested, No Scammers Cash Only I have title in hand so you might be able to finance it through your bank.
Text is preferred because im usually in online class.

    Vin Info Has Changed

    What’s this mean?

KSL Cars uses VIN info to automatically pull details about vehicles listed on the site. The seller edited some info when they created this listing – the changes they made are marked with this symbol.

This doesn’t always mean something is wrong – we just think you should know that changes were made. But it’s probably a good idea to ask the seller about them. As always, if you don’t feel comfortable about it, do not proceed with the purchase.
