1968 MG Midget

Mileage: 7,283

Highland, UT | Posted September 12, 2020

$1,000

Do you know how many MG Midgets were made? According to google and Wikipedia A total of 26,601 were made!
Project car, literal barn find! Engine is not running, I don’t have the key for this car. Note the paints shot. The front left fender has a crack in the fiberglass, it needs a good wash to get to the real grime! The brown is horse arena dust that occurred prior to car being moved out of mother in laws arena where the car was kept. Seats were removed before it was stored. Top was up which helped but it needs to be replaced. If you have a thing for MGs and are willing to put in the work I imagine you’d have a great car for SCCA (that’s what I’d do with it if I had the time & means to restore it.) I don’t want it wasting away if there’s someone who can take on a project like this and enjoy doing it!
Now back to selling this tiny thing!
In search of an MG midget enthusiasts who wants a project! This belonged to my husband who garaged the car the entire time he had it. After he died I had to move the car into a storage unit. The cost was too much to continue to store at the unit so a friend of my husband offered to store it in his shop. I paid a tow truck to take it to his shop until I could have enough funds to work on it. I drove by the friends shop late one night and saw the car was left outside with the top down and it was snowing!! I immediately bought a tarp went back to the shop, pulled the convertible top up and covered the car in the tarp until I could move it. Later I learned my friend never put it inside his shop. Fortunately I had pulled the seats out but it needs a new carpet kit & convertible top for starters. I think a critter took up residence in the trunk when it was left outdoors at friends shop. In other words this car is in need of some serious TLC. It’s missing some things but the key is an easy replacement. (Or so my brother says who owns a auto performance shop) Fiberglass Hood & fenders are damaged in certain areas & white in color while the rest of car is red.?. This car is by no means in great shape but it’s not beyond fixing up either. The seats were upholstered years ago and are still in good condition. Just normal wear is present. No tears of holes. Engine started a long time ago but a fuel pump/line or filter issue I don’t know exactly but remember my husband speaking in fuel language.. whatever it was put it out of commission and out of mind where it has remained until now.
Up until recently the tires were still in excellent condition because it has been stored indoors but they have been exposed to the elements this summer. I have the title, I’m in need of funds and will accept offers. I will have to research what these cars sell for in this condition and I’ll update the price once or if I learn. Meanwhile make an offer if interested. Venmo or cash only. Must pick car up yourself.
Text if you want to look at car. I will reply as soon as possible. Keep in mind I work in healthcare and have long work days and often unable to text while at work. Friday’s Saturday’s & Sunday are good days to reach me, or to see the bike etc etc. thank you!
My $1000 asking price is just filler so that I could post the car on ksl. I’m open to offers. Worse thing that could happen is I say no thanks!

    Vin Info Has Changed

    What’s this mean?

KSL Cars uses VIN info to automatically pull details about vehicles listed on the site. The seller edited some info when they created this listing – the changes they made are marked with this symbol.

This doesn’t always mean something is wrong – we just think you should know that changes were made. But it’s probably a good idea to ask the seller about them. As always, if you don’t feel comfortable about it, do not proceed with the purchase.
