1997 Nissan Maxima

Mileage: 259,544

St. George, UT | Posted September 15, 2020

$1,200

This '97 Nissan Maxima has been my daily driver for the last eight years, and it's been a dream. I got it from my grandparents with about 160,000 miles on it and have put another 100,000 on top. In that time, the only non-routine maintenance I've had to perform is replace a CV joint and a cracked radiator. It got me from St. George to Cedar City every day for school without any problems. This would be a great car for a student who needs something affordable to get around town.
The V6 is lots of fun, and I was getting around 26 MPG with 70% freeway driving. I added an aftermarket radio with Bluetooth connectivity. The battery and rear tires are new in the last year; the front tires have less tread, but still have some life. There is some wear on the interior, but nothing extensive for a car this age. The rear of the exterior has some marking from a bike rack I had on the back. The A/C is very cold.
There are a couple of issues to note, but no major mechanical problems that I am aware of. The key can be a bit finicky when starting, but it's definitely a problem with the ignition cylinder and not the starter or other engine components; you just have to put pressure in the right spot on the key when twisting it. It's a great anti-theft measure :). There is a leak in the oil pan that drips a small amount of oil. The antifreeze reservoir likes to drain quickly, though the radiator seems to stay full and I haven't noticed an antifreeze leak.

    Vin Info Has Changed

    What’s this mean?

KSL Cars uses VIN info to automatically pull details about vehicles listed on the site. The seller edited some info when they created this listing – the changes they made are marked with this symbol.

This doesn’t always mean something is wrong – we just think you should know that changes were made. But it’s probably a good idea to ask the seller about them. As always, if you don’t feel comfortable about it, do not proceed with the purchase.
