I've invested 21K so far. 1000 break-in miles since rebuild completed about 18 months ago. Have all receipts
Originally a 305 V-6 Standard trans, now a 383 Big Block, Edelbrock manifold w/650 Holly, auto trans & 12 bolt POSI, Dual custom 2 1/8" exhaust makes this truck a real monster.
Willing to let go for half.
1963 GMC 1000 Series
Long Bed Step Side
Inside the cover of the owners manual reads: In 1971 the 305 v6 / man. trans. was removed and a 1969 Dodge 383 v8 2bbl. / 727 auto. with 48,000 miles was installed.
I bought the truck in 2017 with 1979 license plates still attached. After getting it running it was a mess. engine missed, over heated, trans slipped, glass broken, wheel seals leaked, rear end had water and a rusted ring gear. Get the picture? By 2018 I got serious & had engine, trans, rear end & front end rebuilt. Most all parts came from LMC Truck or Summit Racing. Here's a list of some work done;
NEW**************
Engine: A Monster 1969 Dodge 383ci. In 2018 was sent to a rebuilder in Seattle. Now has about 1,100 break-in miles and has had it's first oil change.
Fuel: fuel pump, lines, tank, sender, 650 Edlebrock 4bbl w/ intake manifold
Trans: Went to a good rebuilder in GJ, Co. for complete reman. to include new pump and converter, 18" shifter w/detent & floor boot
Differential: 12 bolt, 3:08 ring gear, POSI Clutch Pac, 30 spline axles, bearings, seals, carrier, u-joints
Suspension: Lower A-arms, upper & lower A-arm shaft assemblies, bumpers, upper & lower ball joints, coil springs, front & rear shocks, inner & outer tie rods, idler arm, wheel bearings, alignment, master cylinder w/ rear brake lines, all drums & linings still like new. Bias-ply Coker tires
Cooling: water pump, thermostat, hoses, belt, radiator, twin electric cooling fans
Heating: heater core, heater hoses, blower motor, fan switch, control levers cables & knobs, defrost ducts
Electric: generator & voltage regulator replaced w/ alternator, battery cables, starter, ignition switch, headlights, adjusters, switch, dimmer switch, wiper switch & blades, horn button & relay, signal cam & bulbs, dome light & cover, dash bulbs, rear tail lights, license plate holder w/bulb, back-up lights
Body: replaced broken seat springs and reupholstered, tail gate w/ bushings, chains & protectors, rear bumper & brackets, front fenders, windshield & gasket w/ rearview mirror, cab seals (included)
Exhaust: front to rear complete 2 1/8" pipe w H pipe and performance mufflers
The bad: mechanically done. this truck was brand new top to bottom 1 year ago and still is with only 1100 miles on it. however it still needs some more body work and paint. also needs the wood bed replaced and a new radio. I put a new speaker in the dash and a dial indicator bulb in the radio. the radio powers up, the light comes on, the vacuum tubes light up but no sound comes out.
I have over $20,000 in invested. It's been a fun hobby/project but now i've kind of let it go and haven't done anything with it in over a year and nolonger have the time so it's time to move on. My loss will be your gain.
