1985 Volvo 244 DL with 106,658 miles. I’ve had this car since April of 2020 and am selling it because it has had some issues that have been hard to track down. I took it to a mechanic and he said it was probably the injection computer. It makes the (in tank)fuel pump burn out after about 2 months, I’ve replaced it 4 times already. I don’t have the time or money right now to fix it up. It’s low miles for how old it is so if you could find and fix the main problem it would run for a long time.
That is the main problem with it, now here are some little issues. The back passenger door does not open. The wipers only work on the third setting. There’s a dent in the rear passenger quarter panel. The air conditioner went out a few days after I bought it. And it needs a new battery.
Now, everything I’ve fixed on it are the air filter, spark plugs, (out of tank) fuel pump, fuel pump relay, fuel filter, fuel sock, new tires, tail light circuit board, brake lights, headlights, and I changed out all of the old fuses.
The heater works great. The brakes work well. There’s a Bluetooth stereo with a remote. No blind spots. Paint looks pretty nice still. Its old enough to be a vintage car so registration is only 10$ a year. It’s a really cool car and I wish I could keep it but it’s been a project. It would be a great first car or an easy project car. I really just want it gone ASAP because I got a new car.
When I was doing the in tank fuel pump, I needed a certain tool to get the bung nut off. I had to order it online because no place had one and it took more than 3 months to get to me, which was a hassle. And it’s specifically for this type of car so I’m going to sell it with the car.
