40,xxx miles
One owner
3.0L V6 diesel with 7-speed shiftable automatic transmission
Keyless entry & ignition (4 key fobs)
Towing capacity/tongue weight (from the manufacturer): 5000lbs/500lbs
Self-converted, all work personally completed by owner, with exception of the head unit, subwoofer, front window coverings and window tint. Vehicle has been meticulously cared for and is extremely clean.
Designed to be completely off-grid, pseudo-stealth with everything needed to live comfortably full-time on the road. ***Note, other than the vehicle’s factory air conditioning, there is no air conditioner***
“A” service (20,000mi) completed on time, “B” service (40,000mi) completed April 2021.
Opti-Lube diesel fuel additive with almost every fill-up (have done so in all our diesel vehicles for years).
Conversion details follow:
Propex HS2000 propane furnace, mounted inside passenger seat pedestal, with thermostat
Dometic (Atwood) RA-1735SSPSA propane stainless range with piezo ignition (3-burner stove & oven)
Tankless/ventless propane water heater
17 gallon gray water tank (chassis mounted) with electronically-operated ball valve
47 gallon potable water tank (under bed). The fill is inside the rear door to enhance stealth profile and prevent tampering.
Propane tank 6.9 gallon, (chassis mounted, easily fills from under rocker panel)
200W flexible mono crystalline solar (2x100W). I originally had larger rigid panels installed, but found that with the DC-DC charger, the battery never went below 99%, so I removed the rigid panels (350W total), as they were more than needed, and replaced them with lower profile, lighter, flexible panels. The “high consumables” (furnace, oven, stove, water heater) are all propane, so the battery really only runs LED lighting, fans, toilet, thermostat, fridge and outlets. The (2) 175W rigid mono crystalline panels which were originally installed are included with the sale.
Dimmable LED lighting (4 circuits: front ceiling, rear ceiling, under cabinet, bathroom)
(2) LED reading lights over head of bed with USB charging ports built in
Sirocco II wall fan
Wet Okole seat covers
Electrical system:
Renogy 40A DC-DC battery charger
Renogy 170AHr Lithium Iron Phosphate battery
Renogy Rover 30A MPPT solar charge controller
Renogy 1000W inverter
Renogy bluetooth monitor
(2) 110V outlets with USB-A and USB-C ports on each
Dometic CFX 65W refrigerator (dual fridge, no freezer)
Nature’s Head composting toilet
Interior shower with hot & cold (shower pan 24x36)
Exterior shower (mounted inside rear doors on extendable hose) with hot & cold
Lagun table mount (one of the handles no longer rotates, but table mount still functions fine)
Cargo door stop (Norton Fabrication)
Insulated front window coverings (Quest Overland)
The small door under the front of the bed, visible in pictures, was built as a dog door so the dog could enter from the rear doors of the van and go straight to the dog area without coming into the living area, if the dog was dirty, and still have access/view of the living area. If you don’t have a dog, you can use that area as storage, the door provides good ventilation to the area under the bed, which is good whether you have a dog or not.
The bed is roughly a full size, with a few inches trimmed for contouring with the van walls. ***The bed is oriented side-to-side to preserve living space in the van, so if you are more than 6’ tall, and more than one person in the bed, this van is probably not for you (at least not in the current configuration).*** If you’re a single traveler, you can sleep diagonally just fine. I’m 6’ tall and my wife and I and our small dog fit on the bed fine.
2” 3M Thinsulate in addition to a semi-rigid 1/4” insulation for the walls & ceiling. Floor is rigid foam board insulation. Front doors are also insulated. Noico anti-rattle installed on interior wall panels prior to insulation.
3M Crystalline tint on front door windows
(3) Motion Windows (all on the passenger side, as pictured)
Exterior trim weatherstrip (Owl Vans)
2 Maxxair fans. I find that having two is much better than just one, since we do not have an air conditioner. 10 speeds and reversible, with remotes. One of the fans is intermittently have the “green light of death.” It is a very common problem with these fans, AirXcel is shipping a replacement circuit board which should resolve the issue. From what I’ve gathered, the original circuit boards have a small voltage tolerance, unable to accommodate voltage differences commonly found in RV and/or solar applications. If I get the circuit board in prior to sale, I’ll swap it out, otherwise, sold as is and I'll forward the new circuit board to the buyer.
Audio upgrades (some photos in the listing were taken prior to the Alpine head unit installation and still show the factory head unit):
- Alpine ILX-F309 head unit. An awesome head unit. The bypass is installed, so it doesn’t have the parking brake restrictions. HDMI input allows you to send video to the screen from a phone or DVD player.
- Low profile subwoofer installed just behind driver seat
- Alpine tweeters in dash
- Rockford Fosgate speakers in front doors and also in rear doors
24” wall-mounted Roku TV on swivel mount
Trailer hitch, good for attaching bike rack, etc, or trailer, as desired. We’ve never towed a trailer, just used it for a hitch-mounted bike rack.
All terrain BFG tires, installed at about 10k miles.
Over cab/seat storage
Full size single basin sink
6-stage reverse osmosis system, all new filters March 2021.
Weight taken from certified scale with half tank fresh water, half tank fuel, fully built-out and loaded with personal belongings.
- Front axle 3440 (manufacturer limit 4101)
- Rear axle 4340 (manufacturer limit 5357)
- Total weight 7780 (GVWR 9039)
CO detector
LPG leak detector
A few extras also included, i.e. hand vac, rope lighting, curtains, floor rugs, comforter, three sets of sheets, pillows, indoor/outdoor digital thermometer, and probably a few other small items I’m forgetting.
Clean title in hand (Texas).
Note: Vehicle was hit by another vehicle on the side at very low speed (probably less than 10mph) while parked along residential curb in the middle of the night. Very minor cosmetic damage, essentially a large dent behind the rear driver wheel, professionally repaired (Caliber Collision with national warranty) to be as good as new. Dent (prior to repair) is visible in one of the uploaded photos.
When not traveling, the vehicle has spent most of its time in Utah and Texas.
Other than one of the Maxair Maxxfans (mentioned above), there is nothing wrong with this vehicle, we are going in a different direction with our lives and the van is no longer part of our plans.
Delivery negotiable.
Shipping at buyer’s expense.
Video or more pictures can be provided for serious buyers, only after talking on the phone, 619-519-6002.
Showing/viewing available locally in Bozeman, MT -- where the vehicle is currently located.
I do not need help selling -- don't ask.
Do not ask if the vehicle is still available, if you're reading this, it's still available -- I will ignore your inquiry if you ask if the van is still available.
Do not make an offer without either seeing the vehicle in person, or talking directly with me on the phone -- I will ignore any offers outside these parameters.
