1997 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport

Mileage: 228,000

Salt Lake City, UT | Posted April 24, 2021

$2,800

Selling my 1997 Subasubarubaru Outback Sport 5spd manual. I bought the car in October of 2018 with 211k and it has been a great car, but I’m selling it because I upgraded to a newer Subaru. Heat/AC/cruise control all work great. I have done a lot of work to this car and it has been a super reliable daily for me. It passed emissions 2 months ago without issue.
I have done the following since I bought it:
-timing belt/water pump/timing pulleys @211k
-new front cv axles
-head gaskets/seals/engine rebuild @218k
-WRX rear sway bar and new endlinks front and back
-short shifter and new shift linkage/bushings
-new radiator
-previous owner said clutch was done @180k (when I pulled the engine the clutch looked fresh but I don’t have receipts for it)
-new front rotors/pads last month and a new drivers side caliper
-lifted on outback suspension with oversized tires (215/60r16)
-new bug deflector from Subaru
-new windshield
-UEL headers and a 3in catback exhaust
-Kenwood door speakers
-MOMO steering wheel
-12in sub and amp
-06 WRX front and rear seats
Cons:
-leaks oil. I top her off about every other gas fillup. Not sure exactly where it is leaking from but it hasn’t been enough of an issue for me to look into
-power steering leaks like most 90s subarus
-rust on the rear quarter panels and on the pinch welds toward the back of the car. Strut towers and anything structural are solid.
-clearcoat fade on the roof and general door dents. The hood has some bondo cracking as well. It’s not the cleanest car out there but it looks good for it age.
-p0131 comes on every once in a while and then goes away. Didn’t cause any problems with emissions, but it may need a new O2 or catalytic converters in the future
Thanks for reading call/text with any questions.

    Vin Info Has Changed

    What’s this mean?

KSL Cars uses VIN info to automatically pull details about vehicles listed on the site. The seller edited some info when they created this listing – the changes they made are marked with this symbol.

This doesn’t always mean something is wrong – we just think you should know that changes were made. But it’s probably a good idea to ask the seller about them. As always, if you don’t feel comfortable about it, do not proceed with the purchase.
