2005 BMW M3

Mileage: 143,000

Salt Lake City, UT | Posted April 27, 2021

$19,500

Beautiful M3 with the rare 6sp manual. Most e46 M3's have the SMG transmission, and while it was considered advanced at the time, it was an early version of an SMG and it provides a really a poor driving experience by modern standards. The 6sp manual is a blast to drive. This car handles absolutely amazing as well (coil over suspension). I was a big fan of the C5 corvette at the time, and after driving both for a long time I was really blown away with how the m3 handles in the canyon and then is nice to drive around town. It really is one of the best all around cars ever made. This car also has one of the best interior colors, the cinnamon leather. I loved the color so much I had a steering wheel custom made (800 dollars) to match the interior. It is perforated leather on the top and alcantara on the bottom with cinnamon stitching and BMW colors at the top. It's really a beautiful wheel.
The car has had the vanos re-serviced, and I recently checked the valve clearance. I also went through the engine degreased every inch, and replaced every o-ring and gasket that looked like it was weeping oil. It was a fun winter project a while back and now the engine bay looks like a brand new car even after driving the canyons last summer.
I have done some minor modifications but most can be undone. List of mods:
1. Coil over suspension
2. Painted calipers (copper it kind of matches the cinnamon interior)
3. Some cheap ebay ( I know) carbon fiber stuff. It honestly doesn't look bad at all and you can remove it. ( I hear fishing line works to remove)
4. Plastidip rims (can be pealed off)
5. Another ebay part, the rear diffuser. I still have the stock diffuser and its a quick swap
6. catback exhaust (Shcnitzer) looks really cool, and isn't too loud. Car sounds a lot better to me.
7. Stereo system. I love music so I upgraded the door speakers to Hertz component speakers, and I have a true 3 way system with a woofer, mid, and tweeter. Then in the back there are 2 10" JL audio subs. I'm going to miss driving through the mountains jamming out in this car.
8. tinted windows. I went dark so you might get a ticket. I've never had a problem I'm not sure they care much about it anymore. It looks amazing.
I recently saw a 2001 with similar miles sell for 16.8k on Bring a Trailer. I'm guessing this being an 05, and having a much better color combo, should be worth more. I'm open to offers, but within reason.
Oh yeah, no subframe cracks at all. It looks perfect down there. I think maybe the later models weren't affected like the early models, or maybe it is how the car is driven. This car looks great all around.

    What’s this mean?

KSL Cars uses VIN info to automatically pull details about vehicles listed on the site. The seller edited some info when they created this listing – the changes they made are marked with this symbol.

This doesn’t always mean something is wrong – we just think you should know that changes were made. But it’s probably a good idea to ask the seller about them. As always, if you don’t feel comfortable about it, do not proceed with the purchase.
