1988 Toyota Van Wagon

Mileage: 232,896

Logan, UT | Posted July 22, 2021

$1,000

This van is awesome and I am convinced it will run forever. Starts, runs well, and drives even better. The exterior is pretty beat and could use a fair amount of body filler. A lot of it is rusted away and has been filled years ago. It could use a new coat or two and some paint.
The floor carpet has been redone with some laminate flooring. The seats can be pulled out easily if that’s your thing too.
It has a lot of miles on it but the ac seemed to be working. I’ve never used it as I only drive it with the windows down for maximum chill. It has rear air controls too.
I’ve driven it to Jackson hole and it drove fine the whole way. Here is what it needs though; something with the alternator which is why all of the dash lights are on. I’ve replaced the alternator but haven’t gotten the motivation to get back under there and test it again. New alternator and the problem persists but the new alternator might have been bad. Once the battery dies, the van dies. New battery, it will run just fine. The alternator could be good and it is a fuse issue. There are plenty of forums about the fusible link in these vans. The other problem which has always been minor but may have contributed to the alternator problem is a leaky power steering pump. When the steering is cranked to one side the van will whine and leak power steering fluid. It is easy to fill and you use ATF fluid. I have refilled it while driving as it is behind the passenger seat.
Text me with any questions. Tires are mostly good and a brand new spare up front. It is located right now in Garden City in the Bear Lake area. I can bring it as far as Logan but it may take me some time as I’m quite busy for the next month and without it charging I haven’t driven it more than about 25 minutes away.

    Vin Info Has Changed

    What’s this mean?

KSL Cars uses VIN info to automatically pull details about vehicles listed on the site. The seller edited some info when they created this listing – the changes they made are marked with this symbol.

This doesn’t always mean something is wrong – we just think you should know that changes were made. But it’s probably a good idea to ask the seller about them. As always, if you don’t feel comfortable about it, do not proceed with the purchase.
