2003 Subaru Outback

Mechanic Special: broken gasket. Was driving my Subaru on the freeway when the gasket broke. I had it towed to a mechanic and they checked it out. They said the gasket broke because it ran out of oil but it was not due for an oil change for a while and there were no oil leaks so I think the gasket broke and that caused the oil to spill out, not the other way around.
