This is a 1955 Ford Country Sedan. KSL did not have this model so it required me to put Crestliner. It is more like the Customline instead of the Crestliner.

This car has the famous Ford Y-Block V-8 272 cu.in. 162 HP (the successor to the flathead V-8). The 272 in&amp;sup3; (4,465 cc) version of the Y-Block was the same bore as the outgoing Mercury 256 in&amp;sup3; Y-Block but with a longer stroke (3.625 x 3.3 in). It has the three speed (on the tree) standard transmission with overdrive. It is rear-wheel drive.

This '55 Ford wagon does have an original hitch and has no power brakes, and no power steering.

Original Odometer Reading miles is ~80,000 The mileage is not exact. It is a hardtop. Its Exterior is Robin Egg Blue/Egg Shell White. Its Interior is the same colors. Original push button AM radio, Deluxe heater, turn signals, and original clock.

Comes with all the original chrome except on the sides of the doors. (All the chrome was taken off, because I was doing the body work and getting it ready to paint).

It is a 9 passenger station wagon. It is a very straight, solid, complete project car ready to be restored or customized. There are a few small dents and large dents under the doors and on the back end, as well as a large dent fix on the passenger front fender. It has several small rust holes here and there but mostly the body is clean.

All the trim is there. All the glass is good. The front and back bumpers are bent but can be easily straightened. The interior is all there, but needs to be redone. The dash and gauges are all there including the original radio. The floors are solid.

The smooth running 272 CID V-8 engine and the 3-speed on the tree-overdrive manual transmission is running, in good shape with a good working clutch. The brakes need work. The headlights, some of the lights and the dash need to be wired up. It has been converted from its original 6volt battery system to the 12volt battery system.

This is one of the best '55 Ford project wagons I have seen, so don't miss this opportunity.

Story of the&amp;hellip; 1955 Ford Country Sedan Wagon

In 1955 station wagons were, for the first time, included in their own series. The Country Sedan was the intermediate level wagon. The 1955 Fords were totally redesigned from the 1954 version. The new bodies were longer, lower and wider. and a convenient fold-down rear seat.

Prior to 1961, all Ford wagons used a two-piece tailgate assembly that required the operator to lift the rear window up and lock it into place via a mechanical support, and the drop the tail gate down to fully access the rear compartment.

The Ford Country Sedan was a full-size station wagon built by the Ford Motor Company from 1952 until 1974.

It was based on the Ford full-size car line available in each year. The Country Sedan was the mid-trim station wagon in the Ford range. Unlike the Country Squire, the Country Sedan featured plain body sides. As a full-size wagon, it could carry up to 9 passengers, if so equipped.

The Country Sedan was based on the Customline from 1952 to 1974. Beginning In 1955, Ford spun their station wagons into their own series and the Country Sedan continued to represent the mid-trim level station wagon.
