Wings and Wheels is back with an eye-popping show Sept. 28
Discussed in this article
For more than a decade, Wings and Wheels has been the premier fall event for car and airplane enthusiasts. And this year’s show, on Saturday, Sept. 28, promises to outshine the rest. On the freshly paved runway of Spanish Fork Airport, you’ll find rare supercars — courtesy of Supercar Ron and several other exotic car owners — and a variety of vintage warplanes.

“If you’ve attended before, you know what to expect,” said Trevor Hoyt of Envision Automotive Personalized, one of the event’s organizers and sponsors. “But we’ve got some exciting new things lined up this year. The event just keeps getting bigger.”
After attending the past three years, we can confirm it’s a memorable experience that the whole family will love. Wings and Wheels is held at the Spanish Fork Airport. Tickets are $25 online and $30 at the gate, with free entry for children under 10. Buy tickets early and you can save $5 off your tickets with the code WW24.
What to expect
Wings and Wheels is a marathon of an event packed with awesome car and airplane activities and shows. Expect flyovers (Tom Cruise would be envious), parachute jumpers, flyovers, formation flying, exotic car runway sprints, static car displays, a static airplane show, warbird and helicopter rides and more. If you love speed or flight, this is the event of the year for you.

The Exotic Car Runway Attack is a timed speed competition. Each car races solo, aiming to hit top speed in a half-mile sprint. Drivers get multiple chances to achieve their best time. For supercar fans, Supercar Ron will be there with his twin-turbo Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato, possibly along with a few other surprises.
Autocross is an obstacle course marked by cones with sharp turns, where driver skill is more important than raw speed. The driver who completes the course the fastest wins.

In addition to the cars, there will be over 50 aircraft on display, both on the ground and in the sky, some of which are incredibly rare. Expect to see vintage warplanes such as the P51 Mustang, the famous “Mormon Mustang,” as well as WWI and WWII biplanes, jets and custom, home-built planes. The Patey brothers will also have a presence.
A must-see event
This is the only event in Utah to feature cars and planes this way. “There will be some incredible cars and planes at this event, and you won’t get to see them perform like this anywhere else this year,” said Hoyt. With fuel explosions, raffles, giveaways, music and more, there’s something for everyone.

Seating and such
This year, the airport has expanded its space for spectators, with additional seating on grass and bleachers. The resurfaced runway looks brand new, providing the perfect backdrop for the colorful cars and planes. A jumbotron and camera crew will be on hand to provide real-time views of the cars as they race, along with their half-mile times.
Shade is sparse, but there will be plenty of food trucks and other amenities to ensure you have what you need throughout the day. Bringing a lawn chair, a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen is also recommended. The show runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
