1983 Toyota Landcruiser FJ60 with Chevy 350 V8 swap
Very nice 1983 Toyota Landcruiser FJ 60 with a strong running 5.7/350 chevy V8 (GM Goodwrench crate motor) swapped into it.
Body: Very nice overall with very little rust. It has a “utilitarian” grey/sliver paint job over the original cream/tan with some slight body damage on the passenger back door. Very good, rust free body overall with no “usual” rust on the body or frame. ARB bull bar front bumper.
Engine and drive train: Strong running GM crate 350, carbureted with an eldebrock 650cm carb, headers and HEI ignition. Runs strong and consistent. Original Toyota 4sp trans and 2 spd transfer case. Brand new Toyo Open country33x10.5 Mud terrain tires on stock rims.
Interior: Nice condition overall, but needs some light cleaning and TLC.
What it needs: Mechanically it needs the rear output seal on the transfer case replaced. It does have a leak common to that shaft and seal. It also needs “light” TLC in wire routing in the engine bay via zip ties. Other than that it’s a strong running “swiss army knife” of a 4x4 ready to go. The chevy engine oil pressure and coolant temp can be adapted to the stock Toyota gauges. Aftermarket gauges work fine as they are but not my preference. Front steering knuckles seals needs service and to properly cool in hot temps the engine set up needs a fan shroud in my experience.
This is a great "almost done' project I bought, and with the items buttoned up it's a solid very reliable rig. I've just decided to devote my time to another FJ60 I'm restoring or else I would not sell. I love these rigs in general.
This is a factory Non-AC vehicle, so there is no AC.
More pictures coming tomorrow! This is a great/solid FJ60 at a great price and I have several other Toyota’s and projects or else I would not be selling and my wife wants an off-roader for her that is more “tame”….
$10,500 to recover what I paid, and with these appreciating this is a great deal I’m passing on!
May consider a trade for a Lexus GX470 (my wife wants) but otherwise, cash, in person sale. We can communicate to set up you seeing it, driving it and picking up.
I live in a remote area but it is an off road paradise. I’m patient considering the current epidemic and willing to work with the buyer including isolated overnight lodging if you buy it.
May consider early 4th Generation 4runner V8 or early Lexus GX470 as a partial trade plus cash.

2001 Toyota Tacoma Double cab TRD
01 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab, 4x4, TRD with locking rear differential
Runs and drives good, but needs a little “TLC” here and there. I bought this as a project truck to evolve to more offroad (mild lift etc) but have used it as an every day work and driving vehicle.
The number one thing it needs to be driven long distances daily etc... is a professional front end alignment. From there it can be modified or build at someone's leisure.
Body: Decent shape overall. It’s apparent the truck took a light hit (aka parking lot fender bender) on the front passenger side, and the passenger side fender, grill and hood have been replaced. Repainted hood is “decent” and if you look close you can see imperfections. Paint job overall has imperfections, but is a good utilitarian job overall.
Engine: Runs good, cold AC, and I have numerous OEM Toyota tune up parts that go with it in the form of belts, small hoses, radiator hoses, valve cover gaskets and move. Auto transmission shifts good and strong, 4x4 and locking rear diff work great.
Drive train: New front brake pads and rotors (Toyota OEM). One new outer tie rod installed and I have the other one. I also have Toyota OEM ball joints for a front end rebuild. Drives OK but feels a little loose, and at 237k its due for a rebuild and alignment. I have Toyota OEM rebuilt front axles from CVJ in Denver that are included but not installed. When you slow down/engine slows the power steering is intermittent, so the Power steering pump needs to be replaced or rebuilt.
Interior: Nice condition, nonsmoking and no damage, rips etc…..Everything functions well and works like it should.
Reason for selling: I’m thinning down my Toyota’s and projects. I have quite a few and enough Toyota projects to last me for the next 5 years, otherwise I really like this truck and it will make a great off road project.
It’s not perfect, and needs a “good major tune up” all the way around, including attention to the front end. My plans were to wait to replace ball joints, other tie rod and front axles when I removed stock struts and replaced them with OME struts/springs.
I have a lot of spare OEM Toyota parts for it, that I will list and photograph in the next few days and get more pics of the engine bay, area of damage repair on the front etc… Does come with camper and choice of either the set of TRD wheels pictured. One set only, not both sets. Spacers included that offset later wheels correctly for spacing.
Best Double cab, TRD locking diff Tacoma deal on here, and will make a great off road build. I live in a remote area, so test drive, purchase/pick up will have to be communicated and be arranged, especially given our current environment. No hurry to sell, and will consider trading for a Lexus GX470.
Price is to recover what I have invested to this point that includes several $hundred in new OEM toyota parts. Clean, clear title in hand, in my name.

2000 Toyota runner, SR5 sport, locking rear differential, 268K miles, major multiple tune ups complete that make this 4runner "solid" and reliable having done what all runners around this mileage need to have.
Will consider trading this towards a GX470 Lexus.
Too many vehicles, so looking to pass this 4runner along at what I have invested in it.
Engine: 3.4 V6, DOHC 24 valve motor, runs great with following major tune up items complete. New Aisin timing belt and water pump, new cam seals, all 6 fuel injectors sent to RC engineering for clean and balancing, new fuel pressure regulator, new radiator and various cooling hoses, new spark plugs, plug wires and valve cover gaskets. Throttle body and TPS cleaned and serviced (prevents hard starting when these get build up) with new gaskets, new engine coolant (toyota red), and new battery. Engine runs smooth and reliable. All replacement parts, and fluids OEM Toyota. Cold AC.
Drive train: New Toyota rear wheel bearings and seals, rear brakes checked/serviced and rear differential fluid changed.
Tires and Wheels: New 2019 Tacoma TRD take off wheels and tires, 17” Toyo with proper 2.5” wheel spacers front and rear to properly adjust for offset difference in years and keep wheel geometry the same.
Interior: Shows signs of previous wear and tear. Entire interior removed and everything steam cleaned and replaced. New Cover King Mesh front seat covers, new floor matts and new blue tooth radio. Good condition inside overall, but some signs of wear and use. Everything is cleaned and “fresh” overall.
Exterior: Silver paint is in good condition overall with some scratches and dings. Roof rack cross bars were damaged and the last one needs to be removed. It appears someone put something heavy enough on the rook rack to bend the cross bars, but did not damage the roof. Needs a good wax overall, but in good to above good shape and no clear coat blister etc……
Runs and Drives: Runs and drives great. With balanced/clean fuel injectors and all of the other new engine tune up parts, it’s very smooth and runs great. Drives great and 4wd and locking rear differential work great.

What it needs: Drivers door seal was damaged by PO by what looks like trying to unlock the door with a coat hanger. Either a new seal, or I plan to put a self stick piece of rubber where they damaged the piece. Needs front sway bar bushings installed. I have a new urethane set and plan to talk the 20 minutes to install.
Sales terms: No third parties, bank checks or any other arrangements that are construed as a scam. Realizing the reality of a time of change due to covid-19 I am amicable to time, meeting properly etc, and I’m in no huge rush to sell. I’ll work with a legitimate buyer to arrange sale, and I also live out of SLC so we’ll have to arrange a meeting time etc…. Communication is the key on both variables of a pandemic and my remote location.

1985 Toyota Land Cruiser, with professionally swapped Chevy 5.7 V8 Vortec Engine and 460L-E automatic transmission.
Will consider the "right" Lexus GX470 or earlier 4th generation Toyota 4runner V8 as partial trade.
Modifications: 5.7 Chevy Vortec V8 engine, with 460L-E automatic transmission professionally swapped and installed by a well known Toyota Specialty Shop in Colorado. ECM on engine has been re-programmed to eliminate 2nd O2 sensor and EGR.
Body: All original, Southern vehicle originally bought and spent it's entire life in Alabama before I transported it to Utah. I am the second owner. Body is straight, rust free and has no repairs. It is the straightest, most original rust free FJ-60 I've owned out of 10.
Brand new OME Bull Bar Winch Bumper. All original glass in good shape. Windshield is the orginal Toyota glass, and does have some chips, dings and general "sand blasting" but is all original.
Paint: The paint is the original Toyota Champagne Bronze paint and is sun baked and faded with clear coat also baked. I've held off on painting initially to decide if I wanted to go back original or change the color, and now that I have it for sale to give the new owner the same option.
Interior: All original. Front and rear seats are in good shape with no tears, rips etc. Carpet is original and is faded. Replacement would be a good option and rear cargo carpet was removed due to being too dirty to use. The dash is original and has a few cracks. The headliner is in great shape. Door panels are also in great shape. The original shifter has been replaced with a lokar custom automatic shifter. This is a non smoking vehicle with no odors or smells of smoke or anything unusual. Non original Pioneer casette player straight from 1985.
Engine: Chevy 5.7 V8 Vortec with reflashed ECM to eliminate need for 2nd O2 sensor and EGR. Engine has approx 152K on it and runs well. All ECM, engine, air cleaner and related mounting and positioning are professionally, securely down with multiple "small parts" such as connectors, wires, etc. New radiator with custom made fan shroud to ensure proper cooling. Engine Oil pressure and coolant temp are adapted into stock toyota interior gauges and function properly. AC compressor is new. New air, and oil filters, new plugs, cap, wires, belts and hoses.
Drive train: 460L-E transmission with approx 152k miles and shift kit, adapted to a rebuilt toyota stock 2spd transfer case, fully rebuilt using Koyo parts and bearings. Adapted via Advance adapters set up and mounted using Factory FJ-62 frame and cross member mounting, re-positioned to look factory and function properly. Drive shafts are custom made and balanced. Stock front and rear end gears in diffs.
Exhaust: Stainless Steel "short" heads mated into 2 into one "high tucked" 3.5 inch brand new exhaust system with tubo muffler. Mounted correctly for clearance and to avoid off-road damage.
Fuel System: Toyota FJ-62 Fuel tank with tank mounted electric fuel pump, baffled to be reliable and function-able off road, properly supplying cooled and protected fuel pump/fuel to the V8 engine.
Suspension, Tires and Brakes: Old Man Emu suspension system and front shackle reversal. 2.5" OME Dakar Springs front and rear with matching OME shocks, shackles and spring bushings. Front spring shackle reversal provides better on road tracking. Front steering knuckles and burrfield universal joints and all bearings and seals rebuilt with koyo bearings. New brake pads front and rear with extended stainless steel brake lines. Brand new (less than 100 miles) BFG K20 Mud Terrain tires, 33x10.5 on stock toyota rims and includes brand new BFG full size 33x10.5 spare mounted underneath.
Driving, riding, handling offroad: It drives much better than your average solid axle, 35 year old lifted vehicle by far, thanks to the tapered OME springs that ride on the road better and are more offroad capable and pliable. It tracks much better due to the front shackle reversal and run, rides and handles very well for the vehicle type overall. More than capable offroad from light terrain to more challenging, although I've never put it into rough situations.
What I think it needs: It's owner dependent, but mechanically it's turn key as it sets for whatever you want to do with it on, or off road. For more off roading, I'd say a rear off-road bumper with a tire mount to move the spare from underneath. A winch in the ARB front bumper for extra insurance if needed. Cosmetically, new paint if one desired, probably a new windshield and new carpet. This build is literally just out of the shop and I've had it in the garage.
Why am I selling: I have 2 other FJ-60s I'm working on, and several other toyota's. This one is almost "too nice" body wise and is a very solid platform for someone who wants to chose what paint color they like, paint it, ad a rack or what suits them and tool around in it as a very capable, very reliable collector 4x4 with a modern reliable drive train and suspension. She's 100% mechanically professionally done (have documentation as well of all work) and 95% cosmetically done with just paint required over a 100% unmolested, non-rusted body.
Terms and pick up: You must pick up in person along with agreed upon balance in hand or arrange pre-payment that clears before sending a third party shipper to pick up. I live in a remote area of Utah, just West of Moab, and can provide a place to stay if you come pick it up, and millions of uninhabited acres for you to take it out on from dirt double track to more if you want to come pick her up and stay awhile. Given our current health crisis, I'll work with any buyer understanding common sense.
Partial Trade for a lighter color Lexus GX470 considered depending on price, etc and more pictures, details and video available upon request.
