We have owned this LR3 for 9 years and have loved it. We thought about listing it several times but decided to keep it because we like it too much but it's finally time.**** It has plenty of quirks but drives so well for a 20 year old vehicle. I'll try to list out everything I know about it so that the next owner is well informed.
The good:
Remanufactured(not rebuilt) transmission in 2016 at 100,000 miles.
Front lower bushings replaced with poly bushings in 2020 at 130,000 miles
Front lower control arm ball joints and tie rods replaced in 2020 at 130,000 miles
Coil suspension conversion in 2020 at 130,000 miles
New alternator at 140,000 miles.
Power steering flush in 2019 at 160,000 miles.
New water pump, thermostat, and thermostat housing in 2023 at 170,000 miles.
New spark plugs & PCV valve in 2023 at 170,000 miles.
All 4 wheel bearing replaced in 2023 at 170,000 miles.
All new brake pads in 2023 at 174,000 miles.
New radiator & hoses in 2024 at 185,000 miles.
Full-size spare tire included
Oil changed every 5,000 miles with Royal Purple full synthetic.
Comes with GAP ID tool (for diagnostics & adjustments) that cost $500.
The bad:
Gas gauge doesn’t work. We just use the trip counter.
Only the tailgate door locks.
Parking brake doesn’t work. I rebuilt it once but it needs to be replaced now.
Brake light is on due to a faulty brake pad sensor. I did a sensor delete with a wire nut but it fell off.
Dash lights sometimes come on when coasting due to voltage drop. This is a known issue on the forums but I couldn’t find a solution.
Because of the lift and bigger tires, the anti-roll mechanism engages if you take corners too fast. May be a good learning tool though.
Overall:
Great mechanical condition for its age and mileage, with plenty of recent investment in major components. Perfect for someone looking for a reliable off-roader or a project to finish up.
