Selling my beloved 2006 Toyota 4Runner Sport Edition (V8).
This has been an incredibly reliable vehicle during the 8 years I’ve owned it, and I’m only selling because I’m upgrading to a newer, larger truck.
I’m the second owner, and both the original owner and I have taken excellent care of it. It has been garage kept its entire life, at home and at work. The frame is in great shape with only minor surface rust— no structural rust or damage.
Mechanical & Condition
Coveted 4.7L V8 – rock solid and trouble free
Transmission shifts smoothly with no issues
No electrical problems
Windows, doors, and sunroof all function perfectly
Interior and exterior are in good condition with normal age related wear
Never been in an accident or fender bender — clean title
Maintenance History
I’ve kept meticulous records of all maintenance done during my ownership. Oil changes every 5,000 miles using Mobil 1 full synthetic and Mobil 1 filters, done personally.
Recent repairs & major services:
Brand new radiator at 260k
Transmission drain & fill front/rear differential and transfer case fluid service at 260k
Passenger front tie rods, all brakes & rotors, front calipers, and tightened parking brake at 247k
Timing belt water pump at 224k
Front axle replaced within the last few years
Engine and cabin air filters replaced routinely
Battery is brand new, replaced 6 months ago.
Blizzak DM-V2 Winter Tires. New as of last winter.
Summer tires have 1 summer left on them.
Known Issues
I want to be upfront about the current items that need attention:
Rack and pinion needs replacement
Suspension needs a full overhaul
Two trusted shops have inspected it, and these are the only issues they identified.
Pricing
Perfect for someone with mechanical skills who wants to save money or customize suspension to their preference (brand choice, lift, etc.).
This would include a basic suspension refresh and new steering rack. Once these repairs are done, I’m confident this 4Runner is capable of reaching 500k miles—it’s been that solid.
I’m sad to let it go, but I hope it goes to a good home.
Also, the 4Runner is paid off and I have the title in hand.
