Selling my '98 Discovery 1 LE. It’s been a reliable mountain rig and putts around town great. I’m only selling because I have too many vehicles to maintain. This is a solid runner and a very capable 4x4 for a great price.
The Good:
Strong Runner: Engine runs well and the AWD system is solid.
Recent Top-End Work: Intake manifold and upper seals recently replaced.
Exhaust: Brand new two-chamber welded muffler installed (built to last).
Tires: Heavy-duty 10-ply Toyo tires with plenty of tread left.
Extras Included: Comes with a full kit of extra head gaskets and lower seals.
Issues Accounted for in Price:
Oil: Small, typical oil leak for a classic Rover.
Tire: Driver’s side rear tire has a slow leak.
Window: Passenger window falls off track if rolled all the way down.
Emissions: Needs one downstream O_2 sensor to pass.
Interior: 208,000 miles. It’s been used as a real truck and the interior shows it.
Suspension: Original age; daily-drivable now but will eventually need a refresh.
Maintenance Part Numbers:
O_2 Sensor: #AMR6244 (~$115 at Atlantic British or AutohausAZ).
Window Roller Kit: #LRNJ-1 (~$25 at Walmart or eBay).
Clean title in hand. Great winter beater, canyon rig, or project for a Rover fan.
Drive it home for $1,800.
