Car only: $3500. All the parts and extras: $4500
I’ve owned this 1998 Jetta K2 for 10 years, and it is an absolute riot to drive. It’s a "slow car fast" experience that I’ve spent the last decade maintaining and upgrading. It has never been driven in the winter during my ownership. While the paint is rough, the mechanicals are solid, and its got some semi-rare parts, making this a perfect project or daily for a Mk3 enthusiast.
The ABA 2.0 engine with a 5-Speed pulls beautifully up to 80 MPH thanks to a Techtonics 260 cam and gear.
Recently done head gasket, timing belt, accessory belts, and tensioners.
Fluids and O2 sensors were done within the past year; it passes emissions without issue.
Full cooling system rebuild from the water pump to the radiator, including the oil cooler O-ring.
Mk4 tubular exhaust header, TT 2.25” exhaust, Neuspeed CAI, and an oil pan windage tray.
BFI Stage 1 poly engine mounts and a Corrado solid trans mount.
Raceland Ultimo coilovers (fair warning: it rides very stiff).
TT HD lower front stress bar/subframe brace and poly bushings.
Mk4 aluminum rear calipers, recently replaced rear wheel bearings, and new upper strut bearings/seats.
Genuine 14” BBS RC090 (Style 5) wheels with no curb damage, Federal 595 tires have good tread.
Euro plate tub, rear mud flaps, and yellow-bulbs in the head and fog lights.
Rare upper glove box, VDO oil pressure gauge in a 42DD bezel, and a MK3.5 Cabrio steering wheel (SRS light functions correctly with resistor).
Currently has clean GL seats installed. Sale includes original K2 seats (driver bolster needs foam/fabric)
Power windows work well (front regulators replaced), all locks work on one genuine VW key, and it has the early "bubble cluster”.
The clear coat has failed badly—it is cloudy, peeling, or gone in most areas.
A/C has been deleted. The engine bay components are gone, though the heater works exceptionally well.
The sunroof does not work, but I’ll include a known good unit.
I’m selling this as a package and would like it all to go together. You will need a truck for the extra parts (theres more that isn’t listed):
TT exhaust downpipe/gaskets, rebuilt shift mechanism with all new bushings, a Neuspeed upper strut bar. Undamaged white front bumper, aftermarket VR6 lip, Votex roof rack plus Yakima/Thule towers, bars, and air deflector with keys. Extra headlights, taillights, Mk3.5 Cabrio red-lit switches, and multiple gauge clusters. OEM radio and CD changer. Extra set of good axles and various wiring harnesses. Full set of "Party" seats (great condition, just need a steam clean).
Bring some bins for the parts!
