The good…

6-speed manual transmission

2ZZ-GE 4-cylinder engine, Yamaha-tuned (sounds a little like a crotch rocket), VVTL-i

Spacious hatchback (has an incredible amount of interior cargo space for a Corolla hatchback)

Tires have plenty of tread left (can include a spare set of steel rims with older winter tires)

Lower miles for its age

Registered until October 2026

The not so good…

Paint fade and clear coat deterioration (same as almost every Toyota from this era)

Needs new control arms (or just bushings)

Oil leak - this car has had the same leak(s) since I purchased it in 2014. As long as you keep an eye on the oil level, the leak has never been an issue.

If you drive on the highway long distances, it will throw a P0420 code. This code will cause it to fail emissions testing. The code will go away as long as you don’t drive on the highway all the time.

Interior – switch panel on the driver’s side door is wonky (common issue for this vehicle) along with other things
