Great running 2005 Mazda 3 2-Liter Five Speed four-door coupe. Super fun to drive!
The Good:
Engine runs rock solid and does not leak oil, clutch was replaced at 167,000 miles and is still tight, just passed Utah’s emissions on 12-26-2025 (paperwork included) so is good till the end of this year. Interior is very good, no rips in the upholstery, no cracks in the dash, carpets are still in good shape, factory floor mats in the back and you get both factory and Betty Boop floor mats for the front! The stereo is an aftermarket Sony WX-900BT with Bluetooth, CD player, and USB port, and it sounds great, especially for hands free calling.
The Bad (what needs fixing):
While the AC Compressor was replaced a couple of years ago the system started leaking refrigerant this past summer. Last recharge only lasted a couple of weeks. The fan for the heat and air stopped working on all settings, the last time that happened we just had to clean the contacts on the fan switch knob. The front shocks need to be replaced, and there are some front end alignment parts that need to be replaced because the front tires do not wear evenly at the moment. We just rotated the front right tire to the back because the edge wore s a bit of cords can be seen, so that tire should be replaced soon. The electric windows all work (including the sunroof) but some of the switches can be finicky. And some of the gears are worn so some of the windows don’t go all the way down. So this would be a great car for someone who can make minor repairs.
