'03 Econoline converted to a camper, I built this out to live and travel full time so it's packed with all the amenities to make long term habitation comfortable, or weekend getaways downright luxurious. Interior conversion includes:
-Full galley setup with sink, Camp Chef propane oven/2 burner stove combo, 12v refrigerator, and ample drawer space.
-20 gallon water tank with electric pump, fills via hose connection at the back doors.
-Slide out bed that converts to lounge seating. Custom cushions were professionally made for this setup to still be plenty comfortable even for a folding bed. Bed size is slightly narrower than a full size mattress but is a bit longer.
-200AH AGM battery bank fed by a 300w solar panel up top with a Victron smart charge controller. There's an isolator to charge the house batteries while driving. Multiple 12v and USB plugs are spread throughout the interior for device charging, and there's a 1000w inverter to power AC appliances.
-2 Maxxair fans at the front and the rear to help keep it cool when it's hot out. Fans are set up with one to draw air in and the other as an exhaust to maximize circulation, even when all windows are closed.
-Portable cassette toilet with its own box saves you from having to use a shovel in the backcountry
-Yakima SlimShady 8' awning provides shady space to hang out outside when it's sunny or rainy. It's taken a few ouchies from heavy winds but is still sturdy and the fabric is basically brand new.
-Large amounts of cabinet space, and storage compartments are built in to every nook and cranny they'll fit
-Professionally installed ceramic window tint to help with privacy and heat reflection
-3M Thinsulate insulation and sound deadening around all exterior surfaces
-Bedliner paint job that has so far proven to be nearly indestructible against all sorts of bush scrapes
Mechanically, the van is in great running shape and good to go for miles and miles. The tires are less than a year old with only a few hundred miles on them, spark plugs have been replaced recently, front hubs and brake rotors are fairly new with plenty of meat on the brake pads. Full disclosure: The check engine light has recently came on for what appears to be an o2 sensor error and will need fixed if you're registering it somewhere that requires emissions testing, and the windshield sprayer pump has not worked for the entire time I've owned the vehicle.
This van was a solid home for me for the years I lived in it and the interior, while not the prettiest example of fine carpentry, is an effort that I'm proud of. Hoping it goes to a good home that'll take it on plenty of adventures.
