Up for sale is my blue chevy truck. It's a project.
Had it for about 4 years. It was my daily for a few of those but is an extra vehicle now.
It has transmission problems. Not sure what it is but the check engine light is on for P1864 (4-5 Shift Solenoid Valve Control Circuit Low Voltage). Shifts well when it's cold but hard as it warms up. Worst case it might need the transmission replaced; best case you drop the
pan change the internal harness or solenoids.
The engine is great! Runs very well, majority of the oil gaskets have been replaced, oil and filter always changed on time while I've had it.
Transfer case is good as well. Input and output shaft seals have been replaced.
Front axle differential for 4WD is great too! Had the passenger side seal replaced as well as an upgraded 4WD actuator conversion (it is an electric actuator now which is faster to engage and more reliable). Fluid changed. 4WD works great!
Rear axle differential has recent fluid change. It is a 14-bolt rear end (the same differential they put in the heavy-duty trucks but with a 6-lug bolt pattern).
Brakes have been gone through front and rear and parts replaced as needed.
Steering system has also been gone through. New power steering pump, steering gear box, hoses, and fluid. Also, the tie-rods are recent. However, it will need a front alignment as the steering wheel is a bit crooked.
Suspension system has newer shocks up front, front ball joints, and a few other maintenance parts replaced.
Engine cooling system has had the coolant changed, hoses, and I'm pretty sure the water pump and radiator as well during the time I've had it (not positive but I believe so). Was not overheating, just did it for maintenance.
Fuel system has upgraded fuel injectors, fuel filter, and the pump when I first got the truck.
Tires have plenty of tread but do show some signs of weathering. Windshield was replaced by previous owner. Previous owner also had the transmission rebuilt, but it's never been just right.
Heat works great; A/C does not. Power windows and mirrors, manual door locks.
That's the general overview. To recap, it has lots of great parts and drivetrain, but needs the transmission fixed and an alignment. It's an old truck, a few minor leaks and not perfect, but could be a fun project for the right person. Clean Utah title in hand. Because the check engine light is on from the transmission, I have not been able to get emissions.
If you have any questions, please reach out, I'll be upfront and honest with you about it.
