I'm helping my neighbor sell her van. It has a transmission problem but does run but does not go into 5th gear or in reverse very well. But it is in very good condition otherwise. The tires are practically new so that is worth $500 alone. The engine only has 155,000 miles on it so it should go another 200,000 . This should be worth at least $5500 with a rebuilt transmission but she doesn't need this size of vehicle anymore so it doesn't make sense to get the transmission redone unless she was going to keep it for a long time. A rebuilt transmission is around $3200.
