Hello! I am selling our Mazda 3 i-Sport Skyactiv. Honestly, only reason for selling is my wife is set on a Subaru and this is her car.
It's been extremely reliable, never hesitated to start, and gets up to 40mpg on the freeway (avg. about 38mpg). Just had the shocks replaced, transmission fluid replaced, brand new snow tires, and it has had regular oil changes. The only other thing on it getting close maintenance wise is sway bar link bushings and a new windshield. It's my wife's daily and gets pretty much all freeway miles. Really easy driving. Lots of storage space and back seat room. Way more than it's size lets you on to believe.
Information about THIS Mazda 3 over others of the second generation:
In 2013, Mazda introduced their fully Japanese developed Skyactiv technology (noted with the "i" in i-Sport) which included the engine and 6 speed automatic transmission. That's right, no Ford driveline here! The Skyactiv system has been proven well above 200,000mi dependency and has more power, more torque, and better mpg.
This automatic is easily the most intuitive one I've ever driven. It'll actually hold gears on hills, even if you let off the throttle completely, and will downshift on downhills to make sure you don't burn brakes! It does have the "manual" shifter too if need be.
The only common complaint is because of the direct injection system they have going, it can be a little noisy on cold start and sometimes on the road. This one is no exception, but it's just how they are. Even the newest Skyactiv engines are the same.
The pros:
Great MPG
Simple, safe, and reliable
Cheap repairs
Comfortable for longer trips
Great driveline (best of the 2nd gen 3s IMO)
Brand new tires
New transmission fluid
New shocks
No leaks
Standard 6 speed automatic, not CVT
The cons:
Ride is a bit stiff
It's an economy car, so it's a little loud on the road, especially in the rain/hail
Paint is fading, but bodywork is good
Was in a minor fender bender before our ownership, but it wasn't enough to really matter (I think a bumper replacement might've been the max, not enough for a rebuilt title)
windshield has some cracks in it
This would make an excellent first car or trouble-free economobile for a full family. Look up reviews on the skyactiv 2013 and you'll discover it's the affordable Honda/Toyota alt that doesn't have a CVT transmission. There's really nothing wrong or weird that I'm trying to cover up with the good pizzaz and specs. It's just a great car.
Price is OBO, thanks for looking!
