We purchased our red rock ride six years ago from rancher outside of St George, and it has never let us down. We have been driving the back roads in the high country east of Zion Park and it is the most capable 4X4 that I’ve ever driven. I didn’t like automatic transmission either, but this rig has climbed some very steep trails off the Skutumpah Road , and a number of slot canyons that I can’t tell you about.

We purchased new tires a year after we bought it, and it has had multiple oil changes due to a leaking head gasket. The tires are the older balloon style and the seats have been replaced with much more comfortable ones. I'm a fan of third generationToyota4runners with the 5VZ V-6 engine, but a SUV this old has a some problems. Here is a list:

Body damage that required a replacement door before we owned it

Sun baked paint, with black spray paint on top.... so not a looker

Bad compression tests, repeated several times
