2018 Honda Odyssey EX-L w/Navigation & Rear Entertainment – 95,200 miles – $19,400
Single-owner family van in good condition. Very reliable vehicle for us with regular maintenance and no mechanical issues. Drives great and everything works except the rear entertainment drop-down screen. We always sell our cars around the 90-100k range, so, it was time for this one. VIN is 5FNRL6H73JB028168.
Good:
Has been a great car for us. It is certainly used, but it has been very reliable for us over the years.
Single owner
Never smoker
Regular maintenance and oil changes as recommended (although we don't have a perfectly-kept tracking log)
Brakes / tires seem to be in good condition still
Have never had to take it in for driving mechanical issues (see dropdown video monitor issues below though)
No warning lights
No rust that we can find (other than maybe under the vehicle?)
Drives very well
All buttons / functionality appear to be working with the exception of the dropdown video system (i.e., bluetooth integrations, maps, audio, rear camera, front screen, all dash buttons, all plugs, etc.)
3 keyfobs (if we can find them on the day you pick it up :) - hence why we have 3)
Removable middle seat to allow for 8 seats if desired
Has been garaged for 95% of its life
Neutral:
We don't remember exactly, but we think the battery is about 3 years old
We also don't remember the exact numbers, but we think the brakes / rotors were likely replaced around 60-70k mile range
And we think the tires were also likely replaced in the 70k mile range (so, probably have 25k on them) - all weather tires
Bad:
It essentially was the van we had while we raised the kids (i.e., possible that you'll find a Cheerio in random locations even 5 years from now).
The video electronics aren't working (dropdown screen). All of the other dashboard electronics are working just fine, but the dropdown screen doesn't work.
There are multiple scratches on the paint. By how they look, we're thinking that these likely came from car washes with the exception of one on the passenger side. They appear to be superficial only (passenger side one is a little deeper), and they seem to be minimally/not noticeable from 6 feet away or so, but if you get closer, you can see them. We're including pictures of the worst ones on the front hood. There is a similar type one on the passenger side as well (can zoom in to see in the picture).
The driver side middle seat has cuts in it. We've put a patch over top that has worked well, but aesthetically, the patch is visible (color matches well, but it's still not as good as if it didn't have a patch).
We did need to repair the bumper once after hitting debris on the freeway. No other repairs were needed at the time though, and it never impacted the drivability of the car.
The system is reporting that the keyfobs have a low battery on occasion.
Honda did have a recall on some aspects, which included problems with the side doors not shutting (i.e., took a few attempts to get them to auto-close). We had all of these fixed (all recall issues completed to our knowledge). However, we have found that occasionally, it still takes 2-3 attempts to get the driver back door to close automatically (likely just a Honda issue is our best guess).
The car hasn't had its 100,000 mile maintenance yet (oil change due at 100k). We aren't expecting anything other than the routine maintenance (no specific issues), but just FYI.
