This has been an awesome college commuter for me, but it has developed an engine issue and I don’t have the time or space to swap it out.

The Good:

Because it’s the Limited trim, it is fully loaded: leather seats, sunroof, heated seats, backup camera, and alloy wheels. Everything inside and out is in great shape. The transmission shifts perfectly, the AC blows ice cold, and all the electronics work flawlessly. I have been incredibly diligent about maintenance since I bought it at 75,000 miles. I changed the brakes and headlight bulbs around 100k.

The Engine

The 1.8L engine has developed the classic Hyundai "piston slap." It has a loud metallic ticking/knocking sound on cold starts. It still starts, runs, and drives, but it will eventually need an engine swap or a rebuild. Perfect project car for a mechanic who can drop a used motor in it.
