3-Owner 2014 Porsche Cayenne Diesel Platinum Edition. First offered in 2013 and discontinued in 2018, the Cayenne Diesel mates a 3.0 liter VW derived V6 Turbo-diesel to the second generation Cayenne chassis with an 8 speed transmission delivering approximately 260 horsepower and around 400 ft/lbs of torque. The Platinum edition offered a slightly nicer interior finish with leather dashboard and trim on the door panels, as well as Porsche logos on the headrests and two toned seating.
I purchased this CD in 2022 with approximately 124,000 miles on the odometer. the previous owner used it as a high end child transport, with rock chips on two doors, and damage to the paint through the PPF near the driver's fog lamp housing. Imperfections are also present at the top of the rear bumper cover, and a stray baseball impact recently joined the imperfections life as a daily driver has afforded the 958.
During my ownership Michelin Crossclimate2s were installed, the OEM Bose amp was professionally re-manufactured, full OEM Alcantara headliner was swapped in, rear electronic trunk shocks replaced, a newer styled heated steering wheel was retrofitted via GPSAdapter.us wiring harness including matching airbag. To improve throttle response a pedal commander unit is tucked away under the center console and can be adjusted via an app or the unit itself. Vehicle has dual climate control, heated/ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a six disc CD changer in the PCM 3.1 Bose stereo system with Bluetooth and iPod connectivity (as well as aux input in the center arm rest) P2000 unit from Mr. 12 Volt adds wireless Google Auto and Apple Car Play and the ability to fit additional cameras if desired.
Brake pads, rotors, sensors, were replaced within the last 100 miles, front and rear differentials serviced, transfer case similarly serviced. In November 2024 the EGR Cooler and Oil Cooler were both replaced with OEM Porsche units. January 2025 the water pump, thermostat, and oil filter housing assemblies were also replaced with OE units. accessory belt, tensioner and idler pulleys were similarly replaced with OEM units. In April 2025, the DPF filter was also replaced with an OEM new unit with correct hardware.
More recently, a stage 1 tune from Tunezilla bumped the engine up to 310 hp and torque up to 476 ft/lbs, and a matching TCU tune has dramatically improved off the line acceleration. While I am happy to change the tune to a Stage 2.5 tune from tunezilla upon purchase if desired, the fact that the Cayenne has Porsche's tow package means that unless the DPF system is modified, towing would not be advised with this tune (which buys the driver an additional 15 horsepower and 25 ft/lbs of torque.) I have a second set of headlights I'll be including, aftermarket 'next gen' LED headlights, Chinese imports but they put out lumens and are a popular option for people to swap in.
Now for the bad; numerous dings and imperfections in the body mean this CD is not a garage queen. Also, there is a slow oil leak. While I originally thought it could be the rear main seal, the presence of oil above this point leads me to believe it could be anything from the start of a valve cover gasket leak, to an upper oil pan leak or potentially something in the turbo itself. I've lived with it, it is not what I'd consider major. It is also factored into the price, which I invite interested parties to look into before the accusations fly.
Leaving the state by the end of March, whether or not it goes with me is up to you. No trades, no low ball offers, it's a car, not a prized cow.
