1997 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 30th Anniversary Edition
The Good
Rebuilt 5.7 liter (350) LT1 engine (about 7 years ago)
Many small upgrades (throttle body air foil, upgraded coil, thicker ignition wires, and throttle body coolant bypass)
Aftermarket camshaft (1500-6500 power range) don't know the brand
Regular maintenance
Aftermarket stereo
T-Tops don't leak
Rear axle bearings replaced last year, along with a differential oil change
New rear brake calipers as of last year
Aftermarket BMR lower control arms in the rear
A/C works
I put in a window wiring kit in that makes the windows work at the correct voltage (a known defect in this generation)
Full LED conversion including headlights and fog lights, which now have the settings of "Stadium Light" "Staring into the sun" and "Standing on the sun" as brightness options
Tires are new as of 2 years ago and don't have very many miles on them
Borla cat back exhaust
The Bad
The transmission when shifting from 1st to second gear can be a little rough when you are more than half throttle.
The power steering pump leaks in cold (winter) weather. Doesn't leak in the summer. Pump is fine
The front driver side wheel bearing needs to be replaced, it pulls to the left at higher speeds, and I can hear a noise in that general area
ABS light is on (due to the bearing needing replacement and having the ABS sensor inside it)
Air pump was lost in a boating accident, so check engine light is on (this can be tuned out)
Passenger window motor is burned out
The Ugly
Involuntary body modification behind the driver door
Paint is peeling on some of the urethane parts
Windshield needs to be replaced
One of the fog lights has fallen of it's mount, but it doesn't go anywhere
General GM plastic wear from that era, including the upper dash being cracked
Various little things
The struts for the hood and the trunk could use replacing, but work fine when it's warm.
The rubber around the rear window at the top has shrunk under the window glass itself. It still seals just fine.
Wheels are off a 2000 Trans Am, I got them because they were the correct factory wheel size
Due for spark plug change
Transmission is due for service
I will include a box of various parts and modifications I didn't quite get to. This was my midlife crisis project car for the last few years, and with a little work could be a really fun car.
Please no tire kickers, lowball offers, trades, dealers or test drives (I will take you for a drive if interested)
Thanks for looking.
