Will not pass emissions due to O2 sensor code.
Still with me? Good. Help me save the ol’ girl from the scrap yard! This is Alley, my Nissan Altima. I’ve owned her for about 5 years now and she’s always gotten me where I needed to go. Unfortunately I recently purchased a truck, and it no longer makes sense for me to keep her. I just don’t have the time or money to fix her.
The bad:
• previously mentioned O2 sensor code
• intermittent secondary pump code in the transmission, causing an occasional hesitation when you accelerate (doesn’t effect emissions)
• brake, abs, and vtc lights are on due to bad brake fluid sensor, though everything works normally
• power steering leaks and the pump is on its way out, however the power steering works fine after the car has ran for a few minutes
• the exterior. All the dents, all the dings, the miss matched paint and pealing clear coat, the cracked windshield… she’s pretty beat up, but most of that is from the previous owners
• a/c could use a recharge
The good:
• runs and drives. Honest, I drove it every day to work up until a few months ago, and I’d still drive it every day if it was still registered
• regularly maintained. Always been up to date with oil changes and tire rotations, and never had any serious mechanical failures
• studded snow tires with only two winter’s worth of use. Super grippy and great for icy road conditions
• Nissan’s VQ35DE engine! One of the greatest engines of modern automotive history. It and other VQ engine variants have won ward’s best engine, 16 times.
• the interior is in decent shape. She’s definitely got some wear and tear, the worst of which being a rip in the driver’s seat, but overall it’s not bad.
• clean title. It’s only ever been in two miner accidents since I’ve owned it. A low speed bumper collision with a light post in a parking lot (nothing was damaged except the front bumper) and the tire blew out on the front driver side (pushed the fender up, and damaged the lower ball joint, but has since been replaced)
I’m open to offers, I really just don’t want to see her end up crushed. She’s got lots of good parts if you need a parts car, she wouldn’t take much to get it to pass emissions for a cheap commuter car, or mob her around back roads and enjoy it as a sporty V6 coupe. I’d just hate to see her go to waste.
