FCFS~No holds (unless you’re on your way & will be here within a reasonable amount of time from where you are), WE ARE IN TOOELE.
.
2003 Honda Odyssey EX, Clean Title, with 203,839 miles (at the moment).
.
Viewings and transaction discussions will ~~only~~ take place in person. The last photo of this listing shows 3 different appraisal reports with one saying it’s worth up to $1,775 and considering the interior condition for a 23 year old vehicle, I agree. However, we will entertain any reasonable offer from serious buyers.
.
Please do NOT ask what our “best” or “lowest” price is, or we will ask you what your “best” or “highest” price to pay is.
.
You need to come see it to know if you want it. It runs and can get you from point A to point B around town. It has been a very good vehicle for our family and is still quite nice inside for it’s age and use, as can be seen in the photos. It’s been my baby and I’m sorry to see it go, but we don’t need it any longer, sadly.
.
The first 20 photos are the most important for a listing, but the last 34 are more up-close photos for your benefit to view the full condition. We've also included screenshots of the description at the end of the photos for your benefit.
.
Below we provide a lot of details (way more than most) that should be able to answer the majority of questions about its care, maintenance, and possible future needed repairs.
.
Advantages:
.
• Single owner vehicle - was purchased new in 2003.
.
• Vehicle comes with 3 Keys (one is a valet key) and 2 remotes for keyless entry.
.
• Regular maintenance of oil changes, fluids, breaks, any needed repairs, and all recall work has been done/attended to/completed in a timely manner.
.
• Heater and A/C work well - we’ve never had a problem with the heater; but the AC went out about 10-15 years ago, we repaired it, and it’s worked well ever since.
.
• Heat & AC can be controlled in the back when the front dash allows it.
.
• Cruise control buttons on the steering wheel work well.
.
• The radio, CD player, and tape player work well and has good sound.
.
• You can hold up to six drinks in the front (there’s a pullout change holder drawer with 2 drink holders 4 more in the middle console), 2 drink holders in the middle (one on the outside of each bucket seat that flip down), and 3 in the very backseat area.
.
• Vehicle is clean and ready for its new owner (I’ve washed the 3 floor mats since photos have been taken, so they look even nicer now). Over the years we’ve had it detailed inside and out, either paying for it to be done or doing it ourselves and using a carpet cleaner for the upholstery and carpets as well as having touch-up pain applied to the needed areas.
.
• Vehicle has luggage rack with cross bars on top and a tow hitch on the back (but we do not recommend towing anything until the transmission is fully repaired, as this is how it broke the last time is by us towing a trailer with camping items in it 2 hours from where we live – we had no idea that our van couldn’t handle the stress on it – it might, however, be able to tow something very light).
.
Areas of concern:
.
• Transmission was replaced in 2010. We then had it fixed again in 2016 and again in 2021.
.
• Vehicle will stall in cold weather if not warmed up a few minutes before driving, usually after driving a block or so and will have to be restarted at a stop sign; and it’s a little bit jerky, at times when it’s shifting gears at higher speeds – so it needs to be looked at being repaired (likely more transmission issues).
.
• “Maintenance Required” light flickers on and off a few times when igniting ignition, but turns off after a few seconds (could be due to transmission, but we’re not sure what this may be caused by).
.
• Gas will leak out if over-filled and gas fumes/odor will linger when filled to full line (this happened after a fuel pump replacement fix), so I just don’t fill it to the top when gassing it up and then there’s no problem (it’s been this way for years and it’s been okay).
.
• Front fender is loose/coming off a bit and could use help staying in place better.
.
• The buttons on the steering wheel radio that control changing the radio station and volume no longer work (probably due to spilling soda on them, so they’re kind of sticky), but as stated above in the “advantages” section, the cruise control buttons work well.
.
• Passenger side front door window rolls down well, but has slipped off track a little bit and will roll up more slowly than is normal and sometimes needs help getting back into the correct upright position by applying counter pressure with our hand upon it’s final proper placement (we just don’t roll the window down much due to this).
.
• Paint is chipping in several places and rust is starting to form in certain areas (we put white duct tape on the side/back fender on either side to help it look a bit nicer where a larger portion of paint is missing but ran out of the tape for the passenger side, as can be seen in the photos).
.
• We were rear-ended in 2006 from a car sliding to a stop on black ice, had the necessary repairs done, and there was no impact on the running function of our van. Due to the back window breaking, glass fell between the metal and plastic covering of the trunk door; so we had to remove it a couple of times to try to vacuum all the glass out so it would close properly (glass kept leaking out of the opening where it hitches closed) and, therefore, had to reinforce the plastic with packing tape to keep it secure to the door and it’s worked well.
.
• Driver’s front seat was replaced due to it not working very well any longer. We got a used one from another Odyssey van that had it’s window broken out, so the seat was exposed to the elements and has a rough feel to the upholstery and slight odor; but the feel and odor hasn’t bothered me at all (and I’m very sensitive to smells) with the seat cover on it, as I wasn’t going to use it without one. The benefit of this seat replacement is the mechanics work very well in adjusting the seat to the correct position for any driver.
.
• Front passenger’s side headlight bulb is burned out and will need to be replaced.
.
• Steering wheel is starting to decompose at the top, but we have a grey, fluffy steering wheel cover we’ll include.
.
• One side of the backseat armrest/lid hinge broke, but it opens and closes just fine to store things in and retrieve them.
.
• Hood is a pain for me to open, but my husband can get it open easily. Ooofff!!
.
• Carpet has a few stain spots here and there with the worst of it being in between the front seats from spilled drinks over the years, but we barely ever notice it since the middle console is usually in the upright position, so we don’t see it often.
.
This is everything we can think of that are pros and cons of our van that we’ve loved so much while owning it!
.
Again, viewings and transaction discussions will ~only~ take place in person in Tooele, Utah.
