I bought this 1971 Fiat 500 while I was living in Italy and brought it back with me when I moved home to Utah. This was something my family genuinely enjoyed and planned on keeping.
It has a strong 650cc motor that was overhauled in 2023. It starts easily, runs well, and is completely turn-key. These cars are simple by design, which makes them easy to own and maintain. Parts are easy to find, In 2023 I replaced the distributor, and outside of normal upkeep it’s been a great little car.
The paint is in really good condition and the body is solid with no rust. It’s not a museum piece, but it’s very clean and something I’ve been proud to drive. The red leather interior gives it that classic Italian personality. It has two bucket seats up front and a rear bench in the back.
The car has 35,000 miles and has been maintained as needed to keep it reliable and enjoyable.
More than anything, it’s just fun. You don’t drive this car in a hurry you drive it to enjoy the moment. Every time I take it out, people wave, give thumbs up, or stop to ask about it. I’ve caught people sneaking pictures of it at stoplights and in parking lots more times than I can count. It’s just one of those cars that makes people smile.
It even won a Judges’ Choice trophy at a local show with over 200 cars.
I’m not in a rush to sell it, but family situations have changed and it makes sense to pass it on to someone who will enjoy it the way we have. I have a clean Utah title in hand and I’m asking $18,000.
If you’re looking for a simple, reliable classic with a lot of personality, this one is ready to go. Located in Riverdale.
