2009 Audi A4 Avant Quattro – Runs & Drives – Needs Valve Work
Clean title • Excellent condition • Rare wagon
Selling my 2009 Audi A4 Avant Quattro. The car is in excellent overall condition and has been well maintained, but it currently has a mechanical issue in cylinder 1.
The car runs and drives, but idles rough due to zero compression in cylinder 1. Above 2,500 RPMs the car drives perfectly. I performed a leak-down test which confirmed air escaping through the exhaust → indicates a bad exhaust valve. At higher RPMs the car runs noticeably smoother.

Summary
This is a great candidate for someone familiar with Audi/VW 2.0T engines. Based on testing, the issue appears to be limited to a single exhaust valve (top-end repair) — not a bottom-end failure.
This is a great project, flip, or winter vehicle. It is a beautiful car and worth spending the time and money to replace the valve. You can make at least a few thousand dollars off of it if you do want to flip it. I am selling as-is because of the valve. You don’t need a trailer to pick it up because it still runs and drives. The car is in American Fork, Utah.
I’m selling because my wife and I are moving and I don’t have the time or space to repair it. Apparently if you marry someone who is financially responsible, they won’t support your expensive hobbies. But she did promise me when I build a new shop for the cars and have the space and can buy more Audis.
