I am the third owner, all of the damage, mods, and otherwise happened during the first and second ownership. Quick note: I believe the Odometer is shot, I couldn't find an accurate milage--on top of that, the title is exempt from mileage to begin with.
Exterior:
There is surface level rust and paint chipping all over the car. It was widebodied in the rear by 4” on either side. The rear right panel has a chip ~6” caused by the secondary owner after he accidentally struck a backpack. The front right panel had surface rust which the owner tried to grind off; which is why it is black. The lights, I’m not sure which brand, are LED’s with Lo and Hi. The right mirror was knocked off the secondary owners son, and the left likes to shake. The front bumper is a donor bumper off of another Datsun. The rear bumper is slightly caved inward due to a third-party accidentally backing into it. The driver side door is missing a door handle. And the extendable antenna is not functional. Additional notes: the windshield is cracked, the door and back windows have a tint which is flaking off. The windshield wiper motors are from a 2000’s Honda Accord and only have one speed.
Interior:
The driver and passenger seats are from a Subaru WRX, but the back seat is original. The roof was reupholstered, but none of the wires were reconnected. The steering column is missing the lower plastic covering, and some of the wires were cut or are missing altogether. There are plenty of missing interior body panels, and the new ECU is in the glovebox. All of the gauges except for RPM and Fuel, work. The radio was a cheap replacement that the secondary owner got, he left an old CD: “placeholder” inside. It also has bluetooth, and is wired too two speakers in the trunk. There is a USB comes out of the ECU and is used to tune the car. I believe it uses TunerStudio. There is a small switch in front of the radio which is wired to the radiator fans. Similar to the ‘one speed’ of the windshield wipers, the lights only have Lo (most likely a wiring issue).
Mechanical:
The engine is the original 2.8L L28E inline 6. There is a small gap in one of the piston rings, which makes it prone to burning oil a bit faster. It has also been heavily modernized. It has a new fuel rail and intake. The original distributor is still attached, but was modded to electronically fire. The transmission is out of the 280Z’s spiritual successor, the 280ZX; 5-speed manual (the secondary owner also installed a backup camera). I do also have the original transmission in storage. The driveshaft and differential are both intact. It had all of it’s fluids, except oil, serviced before I purchased. The gas tank does have a small leak, nothing major. Mechanically wise, it’s solid. However, it does not have power steering. All of the lights work, but a rear-light bulb did go out.
I also have 3 bins of spare parts, including a turbo. Also has the original owners manual.
