Selling my Awesome 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Clean title, longtime owner, no smoker! No modifications or structural additions. White w/ black interior, debadged, approaching 180k miles. I have had this Jeep for 17 years and loved every minute of it. It’s the bulletproof 6 cylinder 4.0, fully maintained and running great. Never failed emissions. Really good condition both inside and out, you can eat off the engine, and over the years has had necessary parts replaced and services kept up. Midgrade fuel (usually Chevron), all synthetic fluids on a regular basis, fuel treatment on long trips, and waxed every spring. I wouldn’t hesitate to drive her cross country at a moments notice. She has become the “extra vehicle” recently and I am hesitant to let it go, but if no one grabs her I will gladly keep her. She is a lovely daily driver and a beast in the winter! 4x4 works great. I get 22mpg on road trips. A lot of those miles are Boise-and-back highway miles over the last few years.

Well maintained over the years… I have logbook of services and parts.

Recent tires (meaty, but smooth-riding Dextero AT tires 255-75-R16) with about 80% tread, regular rotations, alignments with new tires, heavy duty shocks, upper-lower-inner-outer tie rods/ball joints, steering arm, new thermostat, plugs, filters, transmission drained and filled plus new filter (no debris or shavings in old filter, looked good), replaced full headlight units (bright and clear!), new radiator and hoses ($680), brand new alternator less than 200 miles ago ($120), new belt, very recent battery, air conditioner system serviced with new upper and lower hoses and refrigerant charge ($700) now it blows cold! Replaced hood/tailgate/hatch window support struts. Came with factory tow package but I recently added a top of the line $600 brake controller with 7-pin connector (professionally installed) as I was going to tow my mini camper… but decided not to as it would put undue stress on her and bought a truck instead (so I don’t really need the Jeep now). All she’s ever towed was a yard trailer.

You can buy a cheaper Jeep, but you WILL be doing much of what I already did ($$!) … and many have been neglected. :)

The only bugs after 25 years (and they are minor) … *The radio sometimes doesn’t display the info… but works just fine. *Once in a while the fuel gauge dings and says “empty” (even when it’s full) but resets or jumps back to normal reading just as quickly. The rear window wiper decides when it wants to work, but I never use it, so I kind of forgot about it. Thermostat sensor trips when a cold engine is stressed, (i.e. when flooring it on a freeway onramp) but is a false indicator… common to 99-04 GCs. Jeep mech says sees it all the time and I just reset it. I actually replaced the thermostat TWICE before I learned that! Haha. Has typical wear on driver's seat, and the typical back door frame rust (minimal). Not bad after 25 years! Andnoneof these affects the function or the beauty of this Jeep! I expect another 100k miles if I keep her.

Perfect daily driver, or really nice “first Jeep” for anyone. Smooth, comfy, reliable, and beautiful, and best of all it’s a Jeep!
