1979 GMC short bed, regular cab, standard transmission, 4x4. Truck runs and was intended to be a project truck. HOA is telling me I need to park it behind a fence meaning I will have to redo my yard to keep the truck.

I bought the truck in 2024 and put a new gas tank on it. I’ve got a new sending unit (after I did the gas tank) that needs to be installed as the gas gauge is not reading correctly. I’ve also got a new heater control for the dash that needs to be installed but I wasn’t driving this truck in the winter so I haven’t put it in. Tires are okay, but they are old And have some dry rot on them. The truck has an electric fuel pump on it and it seems to do okay.

I put new plugs and wires on it, new distributor and cap, new air filter and have driven the truck since these maintenance items were done. This truck has a bit of an attitude when trying to start and I’m sure part of that is old gas at this point. I made some adjustments on the carb and it did a little better but still struggles to fire up after being driven while still warm.

I’m not in a big hurry to get rid of the truck but also know she is in rough shape so make me an offer and stop by to check it out if interested.
