Carefully maintained 2008 HHR Panel wagon. I'm the third owner from new. Originally a delivery vehicle, which accounts for most of the miles. It was dealer serviced, and the GM tech that worked on it knew the history and bought it for himself when it was traded in. At 195,000, that mechanic owner, using his parts discounts, installed a brand new GM crate motor and transmission, also replacing the clutch and other components. He subsequently accepted a job in Florida, and I acquired the car about 2 years ago. I have replaced the battery, front struts, and added the towing baseplate to make the car suitable for recreational towing behind a motorhome. I also installed an electrical kit that with the flip of a switch on the console, puts the car in 'tow' mode, where the steering column is unlocked but the car doesn't drain the battery or record miles while being towed.
We recently sold our motorhome, which is the only reason I'm selling this gem. Why this is the perfect 'dingy' vehicle:
Perfect blend of light weight, super easy hitch up, and great fuel economy
Lots of hidden storage space below the cargo floor
Great big cargo area to take your chairs, grille, and other camping gear
Minimal glass area (and I added window tint) keeps your stuff out of sight
Our dogs ride cooler because of less solar gain when we are out exploring
This is the well-equipped LT model, with the larger 2.2 motor, 5 speed manual, power windows, locks, mirrors, drivers seat. Cruise control, ice cold AC, 18" wheels for a sportier look and stable handling. AM/FM/CD radio. It has some of the aero pieces normally found on the SS model, and a 2 tone paint job to add to the sporty flair.
