1974 Volkswagen Beetle – Daily Driver
For sale is my 1974 Volkswagen Beetle finished in a light blue color with a blue interior. This is a solid driver that starts, runs, and drives well. It presents nicely while still retaining the character of a vintage Volkswagen. Some interesting history is that 11 years ago this car was featured in an ad for KSL Cars called "replaced" (https://vimeo.com/120604793).
Features include:
1600cc air-cooled flat-four engine – original case with aftermarket SVDA distributor and electronic points
Manual transmission
Factory-style steel wheels with VW hubcaps
Blue vinyl interior
Vintage Utah registration
Clean title in my name
The car has been registered and insured since 2011, and I’ve been using for my short daily commute ever since. It’s been parked in a garage every night, and it will be until you drive it home. Unlike your typical Beetle-for-sale that has been hidden or rusting in a field, this gets used, driven, worn, and repaired. I’m proud of the repairs that have made this car better than how I found it, and with the right care it can go another 50 years.
The car is a dependable local driver and gets plenty of attention wherever it goes. The body is straight overall, the paint shines well from a distance, and the interior is complete and usable.
As expected for a 50 year old vehicle, it is not a show car. There are cosmetic imperfections, wear consistent with age, and areas that could be improved by the next owner. It is being represented honestly as a driver-quality classic that can be enjoyed immediately while continuing to improve over time.
This Beetle would be a great entry into classic Volkswagen ownership, a weekend cruiser, or a solid foundation for a future restoration.
The next owner should be prepared to address rust and body issues before they get out of hand. While I had plans to complete a full restoration at one point, I ultimately took the opportunity to purchase another Beetle with needs are more aligned with my available time and attention.
Located in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Message with questions, to arrange a time to see the car, or to set up a phone call. I leave my phone off of listings here because the scam attempts are relentless.
