READ TO THE END. SPOILER ALERT. It's time to say goodbye to our trusted friend. It's lived its life with us, and we with it. Purchased in March 2009 from a local (well-known philanthropical) family who used it as a ski transport vehicle, it came to use with 5,000 miles. We needed it because we had outgrown our 7 seat Honda Odyssey, and needed that 8th seat. As you know the Denali XL is loaded, every option available at the time. Heated front seats and outboard second row. 6.2 L, 400 HP engine, with 6 speed automatic - and if you didn't know this was the same powertrain in 2007 Corvettes. It sounds amazing and has endless power. It is full time AWD, no confusing transfer cases to worry about - but, take note - it is thirsty. 10 mpg around town, and maybe 19 on the highway. No leather tears - in fact I just spent $150 putting a new seat cushion in the drivers seat. The seats fold via power, the sunroof works, the stereo - with DVD player works - and we added a Alexa Car so that you can feel state of the art with bluetooth connection. The navigation DVD is out of date, and we haven't used it - because Google Maps and Apple Maps, right? A/C blows cold. Wired for a Tekonsha brake controller (not included) which we used 2 times a few years ago for a girls camp trip). Weathertech floor mats throughout. Front windows tinted. Tires are average (it was about time). Transmission flushed, brakes good. K&N cold air intake with filter added. Engine steam cleaned, tie rod replaced, oil leak fixed. Everything works (MOSTLY, KEEP READING), everything has been maintained. It was our car and we had no plans to sell it, until one fateful day this month when the engine died coming into our neighborhood. It started right up, but then, once hot, it will die again. Between me and the shop we changed - camshaft position sensor, crankshaft position sensor, oil pressure sensor, MAF cleaned, throttle body cleaned. Nothing. It still dies at idle when you come to a stop most of the time. I stopped sending money before the shop ran out of ideas. So, I'm sad, but I'm done. This may be an easy fix for someone in the know. I am not that person. When fixed, this will run many more miles. We had no intention of selling it, as nothing was wrong. I have a 10 page CarFax ready if you are interested. I'm still cleaning it up and will add more photos later - but trust me, it looks better than any 19 year old vehicle should. Note - I'm not looking to negotiate beyond the asking price, as that is about what I can get for easily accessible parts (wheels/tires/seats etc.). I only ask one small favor, when you figure out what was wrong, let me know.
