1987Toyota 4Runner(1st Gen). Has a brand new engine in it. All block work was done by redline machine in Lehi and the engine rebuild was done by a customs shop. Bought this close to twelve years ago and drove it till the infamous plastic timing chain guide put an end to that. It sat for close to 10 years before I finally got back around to the project Engine was just rebuilt and replaced in the last few months, less than a few hundred miles since then. Mechanically it’s in fantastic condition. The interior, exterior and suspension could use some attention.
Clean Title, , 22RE (just rebuilt professionally), New Clutch, New METAL timing chain guides, New fuel tank, New fuel pump, New starter brushes, New flywheel, New brake master cylinder, New brake calipers, New brake pads, New brake pistons, New brake drums, New clutch slave cylinder, New engine mounts, New water pump, New oil pump, New pulleys, New belts, New spark plugs, Complete factory service manual set (costs $200 new)And much more, if you want the parts boxes or old parts I still have most of them along with some receipts. I do have paperwork for the block work from Redline showing what was done as well as the rebuild receipts from the engine builder.
Has 5th Gen 4 runner rims and tires, tires are almost new and have tons of life left in them.
Should know:
Alternator belt slipped a little so the battery charge light is currently on (I will re-tension the belt when I get time)
Leaf springs in rear are sagging
Shocks are in poor condition (Definitely need to be replaced before its roadworthy)
Some of the bushings and joints could use replacement from sitting so long
Tear in drivers seat
Folding mechanism for passenger seat is not working
Head liner in shell is starting to peel
Infamous dash cracks
Missing a few trim items like across the top of the windshield.
No radio & door speakers were removed leaving some ugly holes.
Paint job could use a buff and polish, the shop that rebuilt the engine said it would polish up to be very nice.
Rust around rear wheel wells & in a few spots on the body. (Probably the worst thing on this list)
Selling because I am working on a show car that’s taking up my garage space and with all the other stuff parked at my house I just don’t have room or time for it.
Text is best as I have odd work hours. (385) 224--1412 Asking $4,750 OBO.
