2003 Honda CRV EX-L clean title. I looked for a 5 speed CRV with the 2.4L VTEC for a long time and I finally found someone who wanted to trade me for my civic at the time. 2 years ago roughly is when I got this CRV right before I made a deal with the previous owner, he had just replaced the clutch and the motor had freshly been rebuilt with titanium core sleeves.
I wanted to learn the basics of replacement and repair parts so as I began with a couple harder mechanical parts such as the motor mounts and transmission mount tie rods and downstream O-2 sensors I had a certified mechanic replace these parts. however the more simple processes I wanted to research and replace on my own. which includes-brake pads, rotors (included is new set of premium ceramic front brake pads, emergency brake boot 3” lift kit & 3” offset, which is not installed) I have however replaced all of the following parts within last year to year and a half. less than 5,000 miles on any of the new parts.
Struts, Shocks, Shift kit, amplifier fuse kit. powered 8” circle 600W sub. Bluetooth radio aftermarket pioneer deck.added new weather resistant mats cut to fit.
As well as water pump, radiator, AC compressor charge, it has more parts replaced I just can’t think of all of it in this moment however I can say that the only parts that need to be replaced is the transmission seals. transmission gears work great it just leaks quite a bit out of the sealed style transmission case, as well as the cv axles need replaced I recommend immediately or at least before driving the car anywhere too far. I initially was going to keep going on it until it was fully restored with only 35k miles on the rebuild . But I had some medical issues and have had some surgeries leaving me still recovering and in need of funds to support my family.
The car runs and speaks for itself when it comes to what value it is worth. I hate to let this car go but I have a couple more kids now so this will not fit my family. a project I spent countless hours catering cleaning upgrading and repairing. By far of the most reliable and reasy cheap maintenance cars I’ve ever owned especially considering that the features of having AWD 5 speed manual transmission will be able to take you just about anywhere , and safely at the same time.
I’ve driven this car with my kids with my wife, to a few different states while traveling 750-1000 miles one way and the same distance back and I’ve never been stranded in this awesome reliable vehicle.
