Rare Collectible Vintage Camper Van, the Astro Tiger is a legend in the compact camper van world.
VIN 1GCDM15Z6HB148804
It hurts us to have to sell this van but our lifestyle goals have shifted.
Get this beauty just in time for the gorgeous Utah Summertime and Fall!
I put 4 brand new tires on it to prepare for the warm adventure months ahead. But things changed for me. They only have about 25 miles on them.
The pop top drops the roof two feet when driving for less wind resistance, and low clearance.
With top down the van is only 7 feet tall and 17' long from bumper to bumper. Easily fits a family of four. There is a double bed over the cab and the table converts to a bed for two smaller people.
Although this specific Astro is only 2WD it has proven to be very capable in getting us to where we needed to go.
We have been on countless incredible journeys with this van and it has been nothing but reliable!
It has always started up and ran smoothly without any issues. It would be fun for a solo traveler, couple, or small family.
Has very low miles at only 92,420.
Has two large deep cycle batteries that power the van and the 3000 Watt inverter.
It has airbags installed over the back axle for a smoother ride and handling weight.
There are a couple funky issues as this is an older vehicle so l'm going to list them here:
The canvas for the pop top is getting old. Its cracking in places and the seams for the windows are starting to unravel. There is a tear in the back that we’ve covered with RV canvas repair tape. However, It has not been an issue in out time of ownership.
The gas struts that help lift the roof on the front two sides will need to be relocated as they push the roof back a couple inches back when installed Just never got around to relocating them).
There is a tiny bit of water damage on the wood paneling on the drivers side above the kitchen area. We left the camper open In the driveway during a heavy rain storm and it warped. Not too noticeable aesthetically and not a detriment to functionality.
I manually keep the oil and transmission fluids topped off and checked during longer roadtrips. There is a small leak on both.
The gas tank compartment does not close all the way, we reoriented the tank due to issues with it accepting gas at the pump. Works great now.
Here is a list of features and things that work!

Solar panel, 200w. (has always kept the batterties fully charged)
