Power for the Ford Flex comes from a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V-6 making 287 hp and 254 lb-ft or a twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 making 365 hp and 350 lb-ft. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard with the naturally aspirated engine, while all-wheel drive is optional with the base engine and standard with the EcoBoost engine. The standard engine is EPA-rated 16/22-23/18-19 mpg city/highway/combined, and the EcoBoost engine is rated 15/21/17 mpg. Three trim levels are offered: SE, SEL, and top-spec Limited. A rearview camera is standard, while SYNC 3 is added with the SEL model and a 12-speaker Sony audio system, Blind Spot Monitoring System (BLIS), and leather seats are standard on Limited models. The EcoBoost engine is optional only on the Limited.
