Love my mini. named it Ms. Minipenny. She's got some issues.
The check engine light is on for various things that may or may not be true. Also has the TPMS on, though I don't believe that the tire shop replaced the sensors when I bought new tires.
The check engine light could be because some sensors are bad, an O2 sensor needs replacing, or because some other mysterious issue is happening I couldn't figure out and it's causing "other issues" as symptoms. I do believe it has a vacuum problem somewhere, it's popular on these. the MAP was replaced and it's pigtail, but still has a code for it. the auxiliary water pump that cools the turbo also says it's not running, but you can hear it running, it was also replaced, it's just not reporting that it's running. The lump shuts off when it should and runs when it should. The clutch "feels" like it's getting to where you'd want to replace it and it's probably it's throw out bearing (they come together in a kit) making noise now and again when shifting.
AC works great, windows work, locks work, pretty much everything works. I've put a lot of time and love into this car and no longer have the patience to keep working on it since I'm starting to get old. Need less of a project for a daily driver.
The best description I've heard for this Mini is that it looks and feels fast, but isn't. Would be a great car for anyone wanting a bit of a project and loves the feel of them. It's like driving a street legal go cart. This does have regular tires and not run flats, due to comfort. There was/is no spare since stock tires were run flats.
