This is a really cool retired tool truck, lightly modified for camping. It seats and sleeps four comfortably, with a propane furnace, mini-split AC/heat, LED lighting, and 3000W of power. It features a queen bed in the rear, with extra long single bunk beds up front. It has a LOT of built-to-last storage, with many heavy duty drawers, shelving, and under-shelf storage boxes. The living section of the truck is 21.5 feet long, with a pocket door separating it from the cab. There's also a brand new MaxxFan in the rear. The 3000W inverter has no trouble running the mini-split AC, a full-size microwave, etc. We've just used a simple portable toilet and hauled water with food stored in a cooler.
The truck has a lot of great things going for it. The Freightliner MT55 chassis is a long-lasting workhorse. The aluminum body will never rust and the one-piece fiberglass roof will never leak. There are three large, underbody storage boxes for all your tools, jacks, firewood, etc. We added 400AH of LiFePO4 batteries for ~5kWh of storage, plus a 40A DC-DC charger that works while you drive. It also has a 60A AC-to-DC charger for charging from shore power or a generator.
Under the hood is the legendary Cummins 5.9L 24-valve turbo diesel that makes great power and lasts nearly forever with basic maintenance. The transmission is an equally-durable Allison 2500 6-speed. Together they provide this beast about 10MPG at highway speeds and it's capable of towing a heavy trailer as well. It drives great and can do 70MPH all day long and even has cruise control. We just had the engine tappet-cover gasket replaced, and new brakes up front. The rear suspension is on air bags, helping the ride quality. Tires are in really great shape and it includes a spare.
If you're more interested in this for a tool or mobile mechanic truck, it's also got a hydraulic lift out back (which doubles as a nice camping patio!). This truck is as heavy duty as you can get without requiring a CDL. This truck is located in Ogden, near Weber State. Mileage is about 170k. No trades!
