Powered by a 2ZZ-GE engine paired with a 6-speed manual. Lift kicks in at 6200 RPM and screams to an 8200 redline. It is nimble, comfy, and gets about 31 MPG last I checked.

Important: It sips premium gas for the 11.5:1 compression ratio. DO NOT PUT REGULAR IN HERE. THIS IS NOT A NORMAL COROLLA.

The Good

• Very fun to drive

• Reliable timing chain instead of a belt

• Working A/C and heater

• Bluetooth & aux stereo

• Comfortable seats

• Easy to work on

• Power locks & windows

• Cruise control

• Built before car manufacturers started putting adware into their cars

The Headaches

• It throws a persistent P0505 code during winter. In cold weather, it idles high around 2300 RPM until warm. Multiple mechanics have failed to fix it. It's perfectly safe and drives great, but passing registration in winter is a bit of a chore, hence me selling it in the summer.

• The paint on the top is definitely showing its age. Still holding up well enough, no rust or anything, but could definitely use a fresh coat.

• The transmission is a little rough shifting into 3rd and 4th. Hasn't caused any real issues in my 8 years of driving it so far.

• Front passenger side suspension has some kind of issue. Works fine but makes some kind of clunk when it hits a bump.

You should buy this car if you:

• Know how to drive stick

• Want an affordable, fun, comfy little starter car

• Enjoy taking care of your own car

• Maybe want a solid foundation to trick out a silly sleeper
