I need to sell my beautiful Hyundai Sonata because, unfortunately, it lost all compression in one cylinder and will need a full engine replacement or rebuild, which I cannot afford at the moment. I’ve not done a full leak-down test, so I can’t say for sure whether it’s the piston rings, head gasket, or something else.

A few other things to know:

• The engine leaks oil from a crack in the oil pan, but replacing the engine would obviously solve that.
• The CV boots are starting to get worn and cracked and will need replacing soon.
• Branded title due to theft recovery

This low-mileage car will last a long time with a new engine. It’s in great condition otherwise. The interior is clean and in very good condition. The exterior has a few minor scratches, mainly from parking lot doors, etc.

Has Bluetooth audio, Carplay, HD radio, CD player, automanual mode, sport/eco mode. Everything works. A/C and heat are excellent.

The car has a dark window tint that was on the car when I bought it. There are a couple of bubbles/ripples here and there, but it’s been awesome having it during the day, especially in the summer.

I really like this car and hate to sell it, but it isn’t financially feasible for me to fix it while I’m in grad school.

IMPORTANT:

If interested in the car, I’m happy to schedule a time to see it, but I won’t be offering test drives. The car does start and run, but it shakes really bad in gear due to the engine failure. Also, since I’m still paying off a loan, I don’t have the title in hand. I will only close the sale at the credit union. They will issue a lien-release letter which you can use with the bill of sale to register the car while you wait for the title to come in the mail.
